61s
“Jesus is the self disclosure of God. Let me say it again. Jesus is the self disclosure of God. When God desired for human beings to know who God is, he came in Jesus Christ. And this witness was so compelling that many who knew him best willing to not only risk their lives but give their lives. Very few people will give their lives for a myth. Very few people if any will give their lives for a good teacher or a good man. But the disciples made a witness that Jesus is God in the flesh, it is confirmed today by people like you and me and others who have experienced the presence of God in Jesus Christ.”

“When you think about it, Christianity is based on a very simple and yet profound truth. God wants relationship with us. So God came to Abraham and Sarah, and God came to David and Solomon, and God came to Deborah and Esther and Elijah and Isaiah and Jeremiah among so many others. And then once and for all, came in Jesus so that we might know that God wants real relationships with real people. Let me say that again. God wants real relationships with real people like you and me.”
