#RelationshipOverReligion
“not talking about doubt, I'm talking about a hardness of heart. Have you ever noticed that Judas never calls him Lord, but always teacher? It's possible to experience and witness Jesus doing things. It's possible tell people about Jesus, but not even personally knowing Jesus yourself. It's possible to declare the gospel, but never experience the gospel for your own self. You've learned how to talk about him, but you don't have a relationship with him. You may be a faithful attender, a ministry leader, a bible scholar. You may have studied the word inside and out, but the danger is that it is possible to know all about him and not really know him personally.”

#CoveredByHisBlood
“``Because the reason Jesus can reveal himself to unworthy sinners is because Jesus came to die the sacrificial death in place of unworthy sinners. Jesus can reveal his glory to the hardest of hearts because Jesus came to take the punishment that we deserve upon himself. So listen to me. Jesus doesn't cover us with his hand. Jesus covers us with his blood. We can look upon Jesus Christ, not just simply temporarily because he puts his hand on us, but we could we can witness him eternally because he puts his blood over us.”

#SalvationIsRelationship
“Let me tell you what that means. Salvation is not in the absence of wilderness. Salvation is not in the absence of wind or storms or struggles or trials. Salvation is not experiencing a release from difficulty the taste of milk and honey and prosperity. Because the promised land in the Bible is not a place, it's a person. It's a relationship. It's not a situation. It's reconciliation with God. And so Moses said, I would rather spend my life in the desert, in the presence of God, than in a prosperous rich land full of comforts apart from you, God.”

#JesusGetsInTheBoat
“I don't wanna go. I don't care what's there. I don't care what's on the other side of the sea. I don't care. I just want to be with you. And so Jesus comes in the middle of our struggle in an undeserving, stiff necked, unbelieving, hard hearted people. And he sees us, and he comes to us in our sin, in our shame, in our unbelief. And Jesus says, I'm your peace. Jesus is Yahweh God. Jesus is your salvation. Jesus came to reveal his glory. He tells us his name. He calms our fear. But the best part of the passage, listen to me, said he gets into the boat with them. He says, I'm going with you now. I'm with you. I'm in the boat with you. That is the greatest news of the gospel that we could ever know.”
