#RedemptionThroughHisBlood
“But the disciples might have objected and said, okay, but Jesus died on the cross. How can he be the one who will reign forever? How can he be the redeemer of Israel? He's dead. Oh, remember at the trial Jesus might have said? All the people shouted what? And he said, may his blood be on us and our children. Although they didn't know it, that is exactly what they needed. Both the crowd and all of humanity to have Jesus' blood on us and our children.”

#OurStoryHisVictory
“What a message. What a story we have to tell tell in Jesus. And as his children, we have his presence with us always. We have his peace with each of us. We have a personal testimony each of us of what he's done as his stories intersected with our story and awakened our hearts. We all have this. This this his victory over sin and death foretold from the very beginning of creation and now, it's our story too.”

#GospelPuzzle
“They had lived through an agonizing weekend of sorrow and tragedy in their eyes. But did you catch why they were discouraged? It said, we were hoping. They had stopped believing that Jesus was who he said he was because they'd seen him killed. He was dead. No question about it. And so they told this stranger to them, the puzzle pieces of the gospel not knowing it. They, if you go back and read through that, you'll see the gospel in their in their words that they're giving out, but they're just not connected yet. They're just not lining up to where it makes sense to them. They spouted off phrases like Jesus of Nazareth, powerful in action and speech before god, sentenced to death, crucified, redeemer, third day, empty tomb. They all had these pieces but hadn't yet put them together.”

#JesusMeetsUnbelief
“The first point on our listening guide, the point of it all is Jesus meets us in our unbelief. Jesus meets us in our unbelief. The presence of the word of god, the light of the world, Jesus draws near. Just over and we won't read on it today but in the book of John chapter one, connects the dots of who Jesus is as the word, the creator god, who made heaven and earth, who made all things and became flesh, and how John the Baptist witnessed this and who he was and gave testimony. But here we have the very one, the word of god, the creator of heaven and earth comes walking up behind them or beside them and joins them and they're discouraged and they have more questions than they have answers.”

#WitnessesByTheSpirit
“Jesus said, take this amazing story that that I, the creator of the world, crafted from the foundation of the world and have recorded for you in the scriptures and go and witness. And they were to be witnesses of it all. And they did that as soon as the Holy Spirit came to them on the day of Pentecost. Peter preaching the first message there, Holy Spirit spirit, spirit filled message and and 3,000 coming to Christ that very day in Jerusalem where Jesus said to start. Through the holy spirit, the apostles penned the New Testament scriptures built on the foundation of the prophets and it's all about the creator Jesus Christ and his rescue plan for you and for me.”

#HeartsIgnited
“``It's so good. Number three is the point of it all is he ignites our hearts to believe. Jesus, the Holy Spirit ignites our hearts to be able to believe. Now, they recognize Jesus when he broke the bread. That is where it all came together for them. When we when we finally connect personally with Jesus, that his body was broken for me, his blood was shed for me, his body and blood given to pay the price of my sin, of your sin. Then, we receive the bread from Jesus to us. We receive his finished work as our hearts are ignited by the holy spirit.”

#ScriptureRevealedByJesus
“Our second point is the point of it all, Jesus brings clarity to his story. He brings clarity and with amazing purpose as we'll see here today. See, Jesus asked them, wasn't it necessary that for the Messiah to suffer and enter into his glory? He was taking the very pieces the two had handed in front of Jesus and he would perfectly fit them together and bring clarity from the holy spirit through the holy scriptures showing the story behind the story.”

#EmpoweredToWitness
“Final point on our listening guide is that Jesus empowers us to go witness. He empowers us to go witness the greatest story that has ever been told or ever will be. A greater than any movie we've ever watched. In fact, if you think about it, any of the movies that we really like that even those who don't believe, love, and and follow are those with this victory, with this evil that's conquered and victory wins and it's always a stirring moment. That's placed in our hearts by god because he is the ultimate victor over sin and death and evil. He's the one who gets all the glory and it's in all of us and they write stories about it not even knowing why they're writing it. Jesus says, take the gospel I've shown you and proclaim repentance and forgiveness in my name to all nations.”
