we don't want to create barriers for people to come to know Jesus introduce them to the person of Jesus and what that looks like in in all different areas as we go through the series every week we'll look at a little bit different religion as compared to the gospel Hinduism and Buddhism and Islam and LDS and some of the different rituals and rites there's really basically two world religions if I could if I could just sum everything up into two world religions one is human accomplishment human accomplished what you do every every belief system of the world that says this is what you have to do you got to do all these list of things and the other is the gospel which is what God has done divine accomplishment divine accomplishment and every world religion falls into one of these two the gospel or human accomplishment [00:00:01] (57 seconds) Edit Clip

Then you'll never experience peace. Because without grace. You will constantly be working. And trying to earn peace in your life. You think there's something you have to do. To receive the peace of God. But peace is given to us through the grace of God. Grace is a gift. I don't know if you heard this. I got in trouble a lot when I was a kid in church. And so if there are kids in church who get in trouble. I can relate to you. But this is one thing I remembered from when I was a kid in church. Maybe you've seen this. Maybe it's helpful to you. Maybe not. And if not just ignore me. But this what is grace. It's God's riches at Christ's expense. That is grace. What is grace? God's riches. God shows his lavish love upon you. And when he says it is finished, there's a couple things that that word meant. Tetelestai. It's a Greek word. It's a great word. But it had two meanings. One is a legal term. It means your debt's been paid in full. Paid in full, you owe nothing. [00:14:10] (15 seconds) Edit Clip

When a battle was won. This is the victory cry. Tetelestai. There is victory. Both are true for you as a follower of Jesus. Your debt has been paid and you have victory because of what Jesus has done in your life. Tetelestai. It is finished. [00:14:34] (18 seconds) Edit Clip

Why did it rip in two? It was God demonstrating that from now on you have direct access to the Father. You don't have to go through a religious leader. You don't have to go to a priest. You don't have to go to a pastor. You don't have to go through another person. Listen, you have direct access to God the Father as you are right now. [00:15:35] (19 seconds) Edit Clip

Anytime you add to the gospel or take away from the gospel, it's a different gospel and it's no longer a gospel because gospel means good news. And then, so Paul's explaining this here. Not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. [00:20:28] (15 seconds) Edit Clip
