Jesus: Our Eternal Light and Redeemer
Summary
In today's message, we are reminded of the profound truth that Jesus Christ is the light of the world, a beacon of hope in the midst of darkness. As we approach the Christmas season, it is crucial to remember that while Christmas may be celebrated as a secular holiday, for believers, it is an opportunity to sanctify and redeem it for the purposes of Christ. We are called to remember that our Savior is not limited by the world's darkness, division, or hopelessness. He is the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, and our Redeemer who offers us transcendent hope. Our hope is not built on earthly circumstances but on the eternal truth of Jesus Christ.
The challenge we face is to keep our focus on Him, to remember that God came from heaven to earth to show us the way. We must not get so fixated on earthly matters that we miss the eternal perspective. As we hold the light of Christ in our hearts, we are reminded of His love, peace, joy, and deliverance. We are encouraged to ignite a passion for Him, to trust in His sovereignty, and to rely on His Spirit to guide us through life's challenges.
In the midst of life's uncertainties, we are reminded that nothing is impossible with God. He is an uncommon God who works in season and out of season, intersecting the mundane areas of our lives with His divine presence. As we leave today, let us carry with us the hope and confidence that God can do all things. Our testimony should be one of trust in God, regardless of our circumstances. We are called to stand on His word, not on human wisdom or innovation, and to trust in His sovereignty to make a difference in our lives.

Quotes
So, God, we thank you, Lord, for sending a Savior for us. We thank you, God, for thinking about us, God, before we could even think, God, you thought about us, oh, God. We thank you, Lord, for sending a perfect Savior, God, a perfect Redeemer, oh, God. We thank you, God, for your grace, God. And we thank you, God, for dying on our behalf, Lord. We thank you, God, for being our solution, Lord. [00:29:21] (24 seconds)
I want to pray, God, you ignite within us, God, the hope that we should have in you, God, because you are the Savior and Redeemer of the world, Father. I want to pray, God, that, Lord, we know, God, that you are the light of the world, God. So, God, wherever we see darkness, God, your light dispels it, Lord. Every time, God, it gets dark at night, God, we see the stars, and we see the stars, and we see the stars, and we see the stars, and we see the stars, and we see the moon, God. We can be reminded, God, there's a light coming back for us, oh, Lord. [00:30:22] (28 seconds)
And so, God, here we are today, oh God. And Lord, we don't have all the answers, God. We don't have all the solutions. We don't have all the resources, Father. And God, we got some certifications and God, we've got some degrees, but God, that does not position us, God, to address the things we have to navigate in this life, Lord. So, God, our trust is in you, oh Lord. God, we've got some mountains in front of us, God. God, we've got some enemies behind us, God. We've got some raging waters around us, oh God. [00:43:30] (33 seconds)
I think right now we have this dilemma and this debate about the relevance of Christ and the power of Christ. I think if you be honest about it, people are debating the irrelevance of Christ and the impotency of Christ. I think people say, well, maybe Christ really did live. Maybe Christ was born, and boy, he was there in a manger, and maybe all these stories in the Bible are true. But, Pastor, I struggle with the relevance of Christ. [00:49:47] (32 seconds)
He says in verse 3, he says, he is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature. Watch this now. And he upholds the universe by the word of his power. Let us turn word here. Here, there are different terms for word. There is logos, which we see in the book of John. Then there's rhema. The Pentecostals misinterpret this term like God has given us new revelation. I need a rhema word. In other words, boy, I need something that God hadn't already given us. That's not what a rhema word is biblically. [01:21:56] (32 seconds)
Jesus is exactly who we need because he shows us exactly what God is like. In Christ, we experience God's love, God's faithfulness, God's compassion firsthand. By looking to Jesus, we see the exact reflection of who God is and what he desires for us. [01:04:01] (21 seconds)
Jesus is exactly God's redeemer. You know why people want to suggest that Jesus is irrelevant? You want to want people to think that Jesus is impotent and has no power? Because they're lying. They're looking to Jesus for the wrong thing. What if I told you most people are looking to Jesus for secondary things and not the primary thing? [01:25:05] (30 seconds)
The primary reason Jesus came on the scene was to die for our sins. See, we get. We get Jesus mixed up because we think Jesus is just here for a good hookup. We think Jesus is just here to help us get a promotion. We think Jesus is just here to help us be more popular. We think Jesus is just here to help us advance in our life. Jesus is here because we were in need of a savior. [01:26:43] (25 seconds)
A extravagant life, a philanthropic life, cannot pay. pay the price for sin the only thing that can pay the price for sin is a perfect life not 99 he don't grade on a curve he need a perfect life to pay the price for sins and so christ came on the scene on the scene because mankind needed the savior christ came on the scene because mankind couldn't do it for themselves christ came on the scene because we have enough sense to trust him to walk with him to live for him christ came on the scene watch this now because we needed somebody to die in our place that was perfect and so jesus is exactly god's redeemer the scholars call it the atonement some call it propitiation it means the only sacrifice that god was satisfied with you know back when you used to purchase clothes used to be this inspection situation sticker inside the pocket on the inside of it you don't even see it no more do you and you pull it out it didn't say ricola it would tell you and inspect the number this was inspected by number so and so and so and so and what it does and what it did was it gave you verification and valid and boy validation that that particular garment met the minimum standards to be sold the challenge now is we don't look at inspection stickers and when it came time for your own salvation god proverbially wants to see your inspection sticker and the only one who can give out the proper inspections um sticker is jesus christ he's exactly god's redeemer [01:29:56] (114 seconds)
