"Jesus said to them very truly I tell you it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven but it is my father who gives you the true bread from heaven for the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." [00:03:04]

"These seven signs are Miracles the signs is what John calls them they're all pointing to Jesus um and we sort of learned in the Old Testament how things are pointing to Jesus and this continues on in that format with a theme of John we looked at in John 20 he said these are written these seven are written so that people might believe uh have faith in Jesus and in having faith in Jesus have eternal life." [00:04:30]

"This whole passage could lead to a sermon just in itself but I want to get into that last part uh uh and you know tie it all together with the bread of life but this is uh to me this is one of those things where it's very easy to forget to keep God in the equation of your life and often times we look at situations and we we can't think of of any way possible to make something like that happen but God is God and never forget that God is God and never take God out of the equation of your life you never know things could change." [00:05:40]

"Jesus wants to make sure that they get that they can trust him and that he's a god of abundance it's a lot like that first sign in canaa where he not only provided wine the best and the on a plenty of it it's another sort of thing where you can trust God and he does what he's going to do so so that's a that in itself is a fantastic sermon." [00:10:00]

"God uses bread to teach the people of Israel how to trust him see see in The Exodus and we've done this but it's worth going back to um the people didn't really know God they'd been 400 years in slavery and um what they'd known all they really knew about God at the moment was that he had rescued them from where they were at but they weren't even sure that's what they wanted uh and he's he's got to show his people they can trust him see this is one of the most significant things that all of us as the children of God need to understand is that we can trust God completely and fully because if we don't trust him we'll never keep going his way we'll keep getting our way involved." [00:11:57]

"God gives them instructions that will cause them to go after him every day and realize that they can trust him every day because Mana comes every day look and the Lord said to Moses I'll reain down bread from heaven for you the people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day and in this way I'll test them and see whether they'll follow my instructions." [00:15:23]

"God says every day and they have to go out every day and and trust him and meet him there and this is a great story because it that's five days a week on on the sixth day they have to get two days worth and it doesn't go bad because there's a Sabbath thing in because God is God and they have to learn to trust him and and and that's a big part see if you if you don't learn to trust him you'll never never really be able to love God and love others the way he wants us to which is what life is really all about we have to trust that God is God that he'll take care of us that he provides for us that he knows what's best for us and we have to quit thinking we can figure this out in our own ways better than God can." [00:17:06]

"Jesus Compares himself to Mana which had to be gathered fresh each day it couldn't be stored up it was a daily dependence on God's provision and and and likewise what what Jesus does is he provides spiritual nourishment for us but you have to seek it daily it's not just a oneandone thing it's something that he encourages you to do forever we have this OPP opportunity to have relationship with God where where we're to press in and to know him on a daily basis to desire to know him more and as we do as we know him more we we we're more encouraged to live for him and to live in the right way and to follow after him and to quit going our own way and to quit you know thinking we know more than God but we press in." [00:22:36]

"Don't work for food that spoils which is what was happening with the Mana but for food that endures to eternal life and and so our priorities have to shift towards what lasts forever and that's found in our relationship with him you have a very real enemy that will try and get you to get busy with food that doesn't last he gets other stuff involved he makes you think we have this opportunity to have relationship with the God who spoke everything into being and who's gone to Great length so that you can have relationship with him and yet sometimes we're too busy and it seems ridiculous and yet it's very true and part of that is because the enemy doesn't want you to get connected to God and experience the life that you have and so he tosses other things at you constantly to sort of get you sidetracked and a lose focus but our Focus needs to be on Jesus we need to focus on him we need to follow after him because he is the bread of life." [00:23:18]

"Jesus said I am the bread of life your ancestors ate the Mana in the wilderness yet they died but here is the bread he's talking of himself that comes down from heaven which anyone may eat and not die I am the living bread that came down from heaven whoever eats this bread will live forever this bread is my flesh which I will give for the life of the world." [00:22:36]

"Jesus declared I am the bread of life whoever comes to me will never go hungry whoever believes in me will never be thirsty maybe you say so what that's a good question so what here's the here's the big point the bread of life needs to be received daily the the story and what he's telling them is is you you can't just go and gather a whole bunch of this stuff and like you're that you're done it's an everyday sort of thing there's a reason we pray you know about daily bread." [00:21:59]

"Jesus is going to build on that in this story and we go back and we learn that God uses bread to teach the people of Israel how to trust him see see in The Exodus and we've done this but it's worth going back to um the people didn't really know God they'd been 400 years in slavery and um what they'd known all they really knew about God at the moment was that he had rescued them from where they were at but they weren't even sure that's what they wanted uh and he's he's got to show his people they can trust him see this is one of the most significant things that all of us as the children of God need to understand is that we can trust God completely and fully because if we don't trust him we'll never keep going his way we'll keep getting our way involved."
