When Jesus rose from baptismal waters, heaven ripped open. Not a polite parting of clouds, but a violent tearing—a permanent opening between God’s realm and ours. The Spirit descended not as a religious symbol, but as power for the dirt-road ministry ahead. This anointing marked Jesus not for prestige, but for wilderness battles and serving broken lives. His identity as Beloved Son fueled a mission of radical proximity to human pain. The same Spirit that empowered Jesus now equips us to carry mercy into the world’s raw edges. [35:09]

Like a house’s electrical panel hidden in the basement, prayer was the unseen grid powering every visible act. His miracles flowed not from divine genetics, but from hours listening in the dark. Mark begins Jesus’ ministry with the announcement that “the time has come” and the kingdom of God has come near. Jesus proclaims repentance and faith, but he also embodies the kingdom as its King.
