#DeathDefeated
“Knowing that these people, you and I, we cannot deliver ourselves and he would travel through the deadliest storm and be rejected by the crowds in order to die on a cross having nails in his hands and his feet, dying in our place for the very purpose to deliver you from your sin and your bondage, and then raise on the third day from the dead proving that he has the power to break even the chains of death that so entangle us, that held us captive in fear?”

#JesusGoesForTheLost
“Are you telling me that Jesus would be willing to leave his hometown, get his disciples into a boat, go through the deadliest storm they've ever seen, Travel to a foreign land, to a place of unclean, irreligious, tormented people who are held captive in their sin for the very purpose, listen to me, for the very purpose, to deliver and to display his life changing mercy for just one man?”

#SavedByGraceNotWorks
“It's his kindness that sets us free. It is the kindness of God that leads us to repentance. It's the grace of God that brings about faith. It is kindness towards us in Christ for by grace you have been saved through faith. It is not of your own doing. Just in case you start to get confused and think you bring something to the table that somehow earned your right before God, he wants to remind you, it is by grace you have been saved through faith and it is not of your own doing, it is a gift not a result of works.”

#HealingNotReligion
“We see a man tormented and enslaved and covered in shame, a man who is helpless to do anything to somehow set himself free until Jesus shows up. Jesus shows up. And when Jesus shows up, what does he do? He doesn't say, oh man, you've messed up. Like you are out of control. You know what you need to do? You need to start going to church.”

#YouCantHideFromJesus
“Fast forward to Mark chapter five. This man is not looking for Jesus. He's hiding in the tombs, in fact. And yet Jesus comes looking for him. Today, maybe you've walked in this morning, and if you're honest, you're not looking for Jesus. Maybe you're hiding from Jesus. It is possible to hide from Jesus in church.”
29s
#GodSeeksTheHidden
“And in the same way, everyone has sinned. Everyone is unholy. Everyone is separated from God. But if you read that account in Genesis chapter three, Adam doesn't go looking for God. Adam is hiding from God. He's naked and ashamed. And so he's hiding from God and God then comes looking for Adam.”

#YouAreNotAlone
“Have you ever felt that way? Have you ever felt like no matter what you do, there's always some lingering bondage. Have you ever felt maybe so separated from God, so shameful that you hide from God? Have you ever felt so unclean or unworthy? Tormented, maybe tempted, held captive by an ongoing temptation or sin.”
29s
#PeaceNotFromSelf
“And in your desperation, you're looking everywhere. Okay. Maybe I should try this plan. Maybe I should try this advice. Maybe I should try these chains so that I can maybe keep this temptation and this turmoil somehow under control. And you're looking for some lasting comfort, some lasting relief, unable to find peace within anything and everything that you've tried, particularly trying to find peace within yourself.”
