#PeaceWithoutFixing
“I've got a problem. Lord, you can fix it. You can do anything, so fix it. And if I'm not telling them how, I I'm just telling them I need the problem fixed as soon as possible. Why? Because then I can relax and rest if the problem is solved. I I can I can experience peace? And so what the lord says to me is, actually, I can give you peace. In fact, I promise you peace without the problem being fixed. I wanna have a peace when the problem is fixed, and I want you to have a peace where the problem isn't fixed. Well, why would you wanna do that? Well, what's gonna bring me more glory? Any nonbeliever can have a peaceful when the problem goes away. But when you have a peace that makes zero sense, that's miraculous. So Philippians four six through eight is not about getting your problems fixed. It's about getting your peace restored that you don't have.”

#SoulHealingMatters
“Does that mean if you get sick and die, God blew it? Can I tell you something? Every person Jesus healed died. Lazarus who was raised from the dead would later die. These healings were not to be for forever. They were to demonstrate who he was, that he had power over sickness, and ultimately death, which is a consequence of sin, which Jesus came to deal with that. So the very David who said, you heal all my diseases. In Psalm 41 said, Lord, heal my soul from my sin. Amen. That's the bigger thing that I need because that'll keep me from you forever.”

#FaithObeys
“Now what's interesting to me is Jesus does not debate the man's excuse. I have no man. And whenever the angel shows up and stores the water, some you know, I the I he he has this whole story about why he can't get healed. Jesus just completely ignores it, doesn't even say a word about it. He just ends it. He says, get up, and the excuse dies on the spot. Jesus completely skips the pool. Faith believes the word of God and obeys the word of God and walks it out.”

#SayYesToHealing
“Put this down, though. Don't take a complaint and dress it up as an answer. Jesus asked a very simple question. Do you want to be made well? Folks, that is a yes or no question, and the answer should obviously be yes. It it it is. He wants to be healed. That's all he needed to say. He gives a 27 word essay. He never says yes. He he implies yes, but he has all kinds of other things to explain why he's not getting healed. Folks, the paragraph is the problem.”

#FaithRespondsToCommand
“The command of the lord creates the capacity. Isn't that true when Peter says, Lord, if it's you remember, Jesus is walking on water. It's stormy. Lord, if it's you, bid me come. And Peter gets out of the boat and walks on water. Now I'm convinced if Andrew had said, I'm coming too. He didn't tell Andrew to come. It wasn't like, anybody in the boat that wants to come, come. Nope. Peter. Mother, may I yes. You may. Without the command, you can't express faith in God. It's gotta be a command that you can obey. That's where faith is. It's not mustering up. I think I can. I think I can. You're not a little engine. Read Hebrews. By faith by faith, every one of those by faith is in response to a revelation of God. He has to be saying something for you to express faith.”

#ChooseWholeness
“Let me ask you something. Have you become so accustomed to something that's unhealthy in your life that you've just accepted? There is no healing of this. I'm gonna die this way. This will never change. Oh, you may be looking for a healing like this guy was, but Jesus wants to know what is it you want? Or more importantly, do you really wanna be made whole?”

#SurrenderForHisGlory
“When you sense and see God is doing something through this circumstance that that is his will, then you can say, Lord, as long as you're doing something better, I'm saying an amen to that. Amen. I'm okay. Yes. If this is where you want me, I don't want it to change. But if it would bring you glory and honor, then do it for your name, not just for my comfort. Make me a lesson whether you heal me miraculously or never do, but give me a peace that my god is on the throne.”

#JesusKnowsYourPain
“But Jesus is very aware of the people that are there and what they're going through even as particular as this this one man. And I think we need to take out of that you know, there are times when when illness, injury can start to actually affect a person to where it feels like nobody cares about me. Nobody knows what I'm going through. And in some ways, you're right. Nobody experiences the pain that you wake up every morning. And and no one thinks about the fact that every night you're going to bed with that same problem, but Jesus knows. And and that should encourage you. There's nothing you're going through the Lord doesn't completely know.”

#TrustGodsPlan
“Listen. For us, don't limit your circumstances that you want changed in a way that limits your solutions. Say, I want this, Lord. If it's your will, I know you can do it however you wanna do it. I'm you know, I I used to tell the Lord what I wanted him to do at church service. Lord, do this. Bring people. Bring people. Keep people safe, Lord. Let people be moot. And I stopped doing that. You know why? Because I have no idea what God wants to do. And God might be going, that's not the plan today, Bob. So I've stopped doing that. I just feel like, Lord, just do everything you wanna do. It's gonna be better than I wanna ask anyway.”

#YouDontNeedThePool
“But I I was thinking about this because we're studying here this this idea of this pool being what we what we need, what this man needs. And he's gonna discover he didn't need the pool at all. He just thought he did, and so do a whole bunch of other people. And I think that there's a lesson for many of us in here that many times as we're gonna study this, we're gonna say, Lord, this is what I need. I'm confident. I'm not the only one. I'm confident. This is exactly what I need to have happen. And Lord says, wrong. You don't.”
36s
#GodsNoMeansBetter
“Listen. When God is saying no to one of his children, it's not because, oh, you weren't the first in line. Oh, you didn't use the right formula. You didn't believe strong enough. It's because he has something better. He allows the circumstance to test, to try, to invite you to believe, to ask, and then to discover what is his best will for you, and then to embrace it and even celebrate it.”

#GodSeesYou
“Jesus is looking at you before you're ever looking at him. Think of Hagar in the Old Testament. Think she's gonna die. She's in the wilderness with her son running from Sarai. Looks like it's all over, and God speaks to her. God reveals himself to her, shows her where there's a fountain so she and the child can live. Ishmael, she names that place Elroy. Elroy. I know you're thinking, Jetsons, stop it. The god who sees. God, you were looking at me when I I thought I was all alone and nobody noticed me, but you were. You were the only one who sees me, Lord, but you see me completely. You see everything I've gone through and everything I'm going through. And if nothing else, if you're here and you're suffering, know that. The Lord cares about you, and he wants you to know he sees you.”

#KeepAsking
“Does Isaiah 35 say the messiah is gonna heal every manner of illness? Yes. And he did heal every manner of illness, but he didn't heal every person who was ill, and he still doesn't. Don't be discouraged by that. Learn the lesson. He can heal you if he chooses to. If you'll come to him, trust him, obey his word, he may well wanna do that. You might not have because you stopped asking thirty seven years ago. It isn't too late.”
38s
#GodSoughtMe
“But you know what? That's that's not my testimony of how I got saved. I was not seeking the Lord. He sought me. He found me. He leaves 99 to go find a little sheep that's doing its own thing or maybe doesn't realize how it got lost, knows it's lost, doesn't know how to get home. But I didn't see myself in any way as seeking the Lord the night that I came to Christ. And I didn't come to Christ because I had thought I should do that. I came because somebody told me I could. Somebody told me I should, and they told me how.”
42s
#FearNotGodEquips
“And you know what the Lord spoke to me? He didn't speak to me and said, they're fine. He didn't tell me that. He just spoke two words. Fear not. Oh, but, Lord, they could be dead. They could be hurt. What if what if this? What if that? Fear not. And you know what the Lord spoke to me at that moment? Bob, God will never tell you to do something you can't do. That's abuse. To tell somebody to do something to solve their circle, which they cannot do, God never gives you a command that he won't help you to obey.”
