#FruitFromTheSpirit
“``Remember, they are not the fruit of your own effort. That's not what the apostle Paul calls them. He doesn't say the fruit of your own effort. They are the fruit of the spirit. So we don't get them to show more by our own effort because they're not the fruit of your own effort, they're the fruit of the spirit. The way we get them is by getting more of the spirit, getting more of him. So the answer is not to try harder. That that's religion's answer. That that's religious. Do the top 10. Do the law. Do get circumcised. You know, do all these religious things by our own effort. That's religion's response. Just try harder. But the answer is not to try harder. The answer is to pursue him more.”

#CantEarnItByEffort
“It doesn't work that way. By your own effort, you can't do it. You can't make it happen by your own efforts. Remember a few weeks ago, we we said it this way, the PKV, Jesus plus anything destroys everything. If you add any of your effort to to what Jesus did here, if you think any religious practice, the dos and the don'ts, if I just pray in the morning and at night, if I just read my bible three times a day, if you're adding anything, and those are great things, don't get me wrong, but if you're thinking it's those things that are gonna make you right with God, it it it just doesn't work that way. You add any of your effort to Jesus and it destroys everything. It wrecks it. It has to be God. It has to be by his spirit.”

#OneRootOneFruit
“And that changes everything because if it's singular, you don't get to pick. They all grow from the same root. They all come out of the same thing. Let me ask you, have you ever seen a tree that produces apples and oranges? No. Right? It just doesn't exist. A tree like that doesn't exist. So when you are rooted in Jesus and full of his spirit, all nine of these aspects of the fruit are being shaped in your life together, come on, even if they ripen at different times.”

#NoticeMissingFruit
“So when you notice the fruit, the different aspects of the fruit missing in your life. Come on. Is there anybody out there besides me that notices occasionally? Come on. Maybe self control is missing out of your life. May maybe you're not flowing in self control. May maybe you're loving, but you're not patient. Maybe you're you're you're good, but you're not in joy. May maybe there's something missing when you notice something missing. Love is missing. Patience is missing. Self control is missing. The answer is not to try to be more patient. Oh, patience is missing. I'm going to try to be more patient. I'm going to try to have more self control. Come on, many of us have seen that work? It just doesn't work that way.”
