#BeInTheGame
“Jesus doesn't need just fans. He didn't call us to be a fan. He didn't call us to sit on the sideline. He called us to get in the game. He called us just like these guys to come and follow him, to be followers. And I can tell you right now, the world around us, the world in the shadow of this steeple, they are in desperate need for us, to be the church, to be followers of Christ, to rise up, not be on the sidelines, not just acknowledge Christ, but be in the game and be his hands and feet to be his followers.”

#DropEverythingToFollow
“And so sometimes we have to make sacrifices and allow God to say, you know what, that's good. I know you're enjoying it right now, but I'm calling you to sacrifice that on the altar of the gospel, of the mission, the great commission. I'm calling you to follow me. These guys were being called to follow Jesus, and what did they do? What does it say they did? They dropped everything. They dropped everything. This was their livelihood. This was how they made money. This is this is all they knew, and they left it behind. Because Jesus called them. That was more important. When a guy like Jesus comes your way, he calls you, you follow.”

#LittleChristOnes
“And and so when we look at what does it mean to be a Christian, we are supposed to be more like Christ. As a matter of fact, the word Christian, you guys know this, the word Christian was first used as a derogatory slang, like slur word. These people are going around that were followers of Jesus, they were going around and they were doing things like Jesus would do, they were talking like Jesus would talk, they were living like Jesus would live, and they're like, look at these little Christ ones, these Christians. That's what Christ Christian is, little Christ one Christ ones. And they're like, they they were trying to make them feel bad about it, and then they got to thinking it was like, you know what? Yeah. Absolutely. That's what we wanna be, is little Christ ones. And so they took this derogatory and actually wore it as a badge of honor to be called Christian.”

#GodChoosesTheWilling
“It's like Jesus purposely went to the b team. The guys that were practiced on the field every day, did two a days like everyone else, dress out, but sit on the sideline with no hope to ever get in the game unless they're like ahead by so many points. Right? These are the guys he went for. I don't know about you, but that gives me hope. That gives me hope because guess what, guys? If it weren't for that, I wouldn't be here. I wouldn't be any use for God. You know, if it was just for the best of the best, here's the thing, God isn't looking for the best. It's not that you aren't good or qualified or anything like that. It has nothing to do with that. It's about are you willing and are you available? Are you willing or are you available? That's the only thing. Because you know what? God can use anyone. God does use the anyone. He can use anyone who say yes because it's not about what we can do for him, it's about what he can do through us.”

#MoreThanAFan
“It's more than a call to be just a passive bystander where we're like I said, we're over here, we're in the stands, we're you know, you anybody watching the, you know, soccer games, you know, it's pretty neat when you say you know, you see those games and you're and you're getting with that, and if it's your team, it's like, we won. You weren't on the field though. You know, have you have you ever thought about that? Like, we won, but you weren't even out there. You were just cheering them on. It's a team that you chose for whatever reason. And and but here's the thing, a lot of people are that passive bystanders, and and and they they call themselves Christians, but they're not on the field. They're they're not in the trenches. They're not in the game. They're not following Christ. They're acknowledging Christ. They're maybe champion Christ maybe it's like, hey, I've got the t shirt, I've got the bumper stickers, I listen to the music. But isn't it more than that? Is that really what it means to be a Christian, or is that just what it means to be a fan?”

#OneWayToSalvation
“The bottom line is, we all have different ideas, but the scripture is very clear. There's only one way. There's only one way to have forgiveness of sin. There's only one way to receive Jesus as lord and savior, and that place in our faith in what he's done on the cross, making that personal decision. for some people, it's it's that, well, they were a Christian from the day they were born because they grew up in a Christian home. They were they came to church every Sunday, and so for them, it's more like heritage and you probably know someone like that, don't you? That faith is based on heritage.”

#WillingOverPerfect
“Jesus doesn't just choose the best, he chooses the willing. He chooses those that are willing. He's not looking for the best. I'm not I don't wanna belittle anyone. He's calling everyone, but it's not about who's the best and who's not, it's about who's willing to follow, who's available.”
