“We're saved entirely by the grace of God and through his son, Jesus. Calling comes afterwards. Calling is our response to grace. It is our answer to the question, Jesus, what do you want to do with this life that you've saved? You've seen in movies where someone saves your life and now you owe them a debt. You owe them your life as a debt of gratitude. Isn't that what God's done for us? So that life should be given in the same calling.”

“So your mission doesn't begin when you have your whole future figured out. Your mission begins when you say yes to Jesus. Most of you know that. Most of you have experienced that. You know that. But when we begin to live out that mission, something changes. We start noticing people around us. We begin to see needs that we did not see before. Our faith moves from our from being something we believe to something that we live. That's where mission becomes ministry.”

“Calling often begins to emerge when burden, passion, and vision come together. What breaks my heart? What makes me come alive? And what can I see God doing if I offer him my life? Those are the questions I would love for you to answer today. Church, you may not know all the answers, and that's okay. My prayer is that there are some here today that are understanding their calling and ready to take that step into following your calling. For those who aren't quite there yet, remember this.”
