#FaithInJesusNotMiracles
“``The miracle was never meant to be the object of our faith. Jesus is meant to be the object of our faith. So our response this morning isn't master enough faith and a miracle will come. That was never what Jairus and the woman modeled for us. What they modeled for us was this, take whatever fear riddled, imperfect faith you have and place it in the person of Jesus rather than the outcome that you're desperate for. Their their faith held them in place as as they walk through crowds, as they walk through through crowds at the beach, as they walk through crowds of mourners. even in the silence before Jesus speaks, their faith in him holds them in place, and that can be our position as well.”

#CrossAbsorbsShame
“Because the cross and the resurrection tell us that Jesus has already absorbed their shame, our impurity, and our death in full. Whatever restoration that we are waiting on this side of eternity, it is not evidence that he has forgotten us. His evidence that the whole story isn't filled fulfilled yet. Isn't finished yet. Hasn't unfolded yet. He is still greater than our fears. He's still greater than our sicknesses and grief. Even when on this side of heaven, it doesn't look like the healing that we have asked for.”

#UltimateRestorationInChrist
“Both these restoration stories anticipate ultimate restoration that Jesus will deliver through the cross and the resurrection where it is Jesus who will endure public ridicule shame, the full measure of our impurity before god, and the full measure of death on our behalf. The cross and the resurrection are where Jesus fully finally reaches across and dismantles all that holds us in fear and restores us and makes for us the invitation of a life of faith.”

#FaithHoldsJesus
“By calling her daughter, Jesus holds her up as a model of what faith looks like, and and we are encouraged that our faith need not be perfect and all put together but need only hold Jesus as greater than the things that we fear than the things that tear us apart. Jesus' final words to her, go in peace. Other words that a priest would would would have said over her once she had fulfilled her ritual cleansing. And it it's a picture of full restoration.”
