#GodMeetsYou
“``Jacob didn't pray beforehand. Like, Jacob didn't repent of what he did. He wasn't seeking the lord. God came to him anyway. all those things I just listed are great things to do, of course. But, like, the lord will meet you where you're at, whether you're repentant or whether you're calling out to him in in, like, desperate need. Like, the Lord met him there in that wilderness. Right?”

#GodIsFaithful
“``God takes the first step in this situation. Right? I wrote down that, you know, it's not about the latter. Like, the emphasis on that heaven is not closed. He's not he's not done for. It's not over. Like, the story is not done. God says, I will so many times in the little verse that I just I will give. I will make. I will watch over you. I'll bring you back. I will not leave you. Like, God does every verb in this passage. Right? Jacob contributes nothing to it, and he has nothing to offer. Right? It's about God's faithfulness. Right? Not Jacob's performance and how well he can do.”

#WeAllHaveABethel
“``Not everybody has the same Bethel but I think everybody does have one, right? I mean, it's not addiction. It's maybe it's not homelessness or a beach or something like that. Right? It could be anything. It could be a season of depression. Right? A diagnosis, a funeral home, a failed marriage, a treatment center, a hospital room. Like, we all have that spot. And maybe we call out to the Lord then during that time or maybe we don't, but he's still there. Like, surely the Lord is in this place, and I didn't know it. Right?”

#MetInTheWilderness
“``I think one of the most remarkable things is that it's what Jacob doesn't do. The Lord comes to him in this dream. He gives him this promise. All this like, he's given him hope for a future, but Jacob didn't pray beforehand. Right?”
