“This idea of righteousness is just a a legal term, a declaration of right standing. So it's this idea, man, the rap sheet is clean. The debt's been paid. Who paid it? Jesus. Guys, that's good news. We can be forgiven by the god of the universe to whom we are accountable, to who knows all our faults and failures. But he doesn't just forgive us. Scripture says he wants to adopt us into our family, into his family. Think about this. This is amazing. And not only does he wanna adopt us into his family, he gives us his holy spirit. Part of the Godhead dwells with me, will guide me on this journey till I get home with Jesus. It's scandalous stuff, guys. It is scandalous stuff.”

“So I say like this, the geography can change, right, where we're gonna go and make disciples, but the posture doesn't. The posture is always the same. The posture is always, god, I'm in your family. I belong to you. I want to invite the world to belong. May I do that if I'm in line of bean traders or if I'm in a hut in West Africa? Right? I got good news, great joy for all people. I don't know who might need to hear it today.”

“I'm not saying you've been exiled to Durham or Chapel Hill or wherever you are. K? That's not what I'm saying. But I do wonder, man, how differently would you approach your life if you felt like you were sent by God here? Because I do believe God is sovereign, which means he's in control. And so I do believe that wherever you are, there's a reason God has you there for this time at least. And, man, just how different would your mentality be if you were like, I think God has actually some intentionality for why I'm here. There's actually a reason I'm in this neighborhood. There's actually a reason I'm in this apartment complex. There's a reason I'm in this office. See how differently you would approach your life?”
