“And you may have accepted the invitation a long time ago, and you may find yourself accepting that invitation day by day by day by day where Jesus says, come and meet me, come and be crucified with me, come and lay down your claims to your life, not so that you'll just live a life missing out, no. So that you can take me on, so that you can be in me and everything that I offer, where you don't have to carry around the weight of your sin, where you don't have to take on the punishment of that, where you can be lifted up and freed and rescued and forgiven, and then where you can go and do the same for others and bless the world. So God sends you an invitation this morning. What's your RSVP gonna be?”

“Something in us knows that we're destined for pure lives, we're destined to be made whole, but we know ourselves well enough that, gosh, as much as we try, we can't and we don't and we fail and we fail. When we are crucified with Christ, we surrender our claim to know how to purify ourselves. We surrender our knowledge of what it even means to be pure and perfect. On my best day, my understanding of what my pure life means is always gonna be in the shadow of what Jesus has in mind for my perfected life, for my pure life, for you to be pure and perfect in His eyes is so much greater than what you can even imagine.”
