#TrustTheGuide
“``So don't just ask, where is my life taking me? Ask, who or what is setting my direction? And perhaps the most important question of all, as I follow Christ, what kind of person person am am I I becoming? Becoming? Because Because when we trust the guide more than ourselves, we discover the greatest destination God has planned isn't simply a place we'll arrive one day. It's the person that he is making us along the way.”

#JourneyShapesYou
“We're on a journey somewhere. We trust God to lead us where that journey goes. But the whole point of the Christian life, the whole point of this journey is to become faithful followers of Jesus. What kind of person are we becoming on this journey of life? Because God isn't simply trying to get you somewhere. He's forming something. He's shaping your character. He's teaching you to trust. He's teaching you humility. He's teaching you dependence. Teaching you to become more like Jesus Christ. The journey is not just about arriving at a destination. The journey is where God does his greatest work.”

#StepByStepFaith
“Discipleship has always been a team expedition, never meant to be a solo hike. Friends, every journey has a starting point. Every expedition begins with a first step. And every instant and every intentional life begins with one decision. Will I trust myself to lead or I will I trust Christ to lead? Because here's the good news. We don't have to know every twist and turn in the trail. We don't have to know what's around the bend. You don't have to to see every mountain pass. You don't you don't have the next ten years figured out. God has never promised us a detailed map of your life. He has promised us something even better, I think. He's promised us his presence, his spirit, his guidance, one step at a time. So this week, pause, surrender, and walk. And trust that the God who called you on this journey is faithful to lead you all the way home.”

#LiveIntentionally
“We we need to be intentional as Christians in the way in which we lie. If if we're not careful then, if we're just reacting to what is coming before us with no purpose, no intention, then we find ourselves drifting, drifting. And and drifting isn't usually the result of just one terrible decision. It's a result of a thousand small decisions that were never really decisions at all. They just kind of happen. You simply let the current carry you wherever it wanted. But my friends, followers of Jesus were never called to drift. Followers of Jesus, we're called to follow, to walk, to seek, to choose, to become. An intentional life doesn't happen by accident. It happens because day after day, we intentionally place our lives in God's hands and choose his direction over our own.”

#TrustGodWithTheMap
“And that leads us to to the big idea for the day. And it's this, an intentional life doesn't happen by accident. An intentional life doesn't happen by accident. It begins when we stop trusting ourselves as the guide and begin trusting God with the direction of our lives. Everything else we'll talk about this morning grows out of that decision. Because before God changes your destination, he first asks you to trust him with the map.”

#BecomingOverArriving
“He wasn't asking how much further do we have to go. He wasn't asking, you know, when do we finally get there? He was asking a much deeper question. And the question is this, what kind of life am I living? am I becoming? And friends, I think that's the question Proverbs ask us as well. Because an intentional life isn't measured by how many miles you've traveled. It isn't measured by how many pro promotions you received at work or how many degrees you earned or how many vacations in places that we've traveled or even the goals that we've accomplished. The deepest question is this, what kind of person am I becoming on this journey?”

#ChooseWhoToTrust
“Notice notice that this passage isn't primarily about making good decisions. It's about deciding who you're going to trust. That's the deeper issue here. Because every one of us, I think we're kinda born with sort of internal instincts, internal GPS. You know, we we all have our opinions. We all have our experiences. We all have our preferences. We all have a picture in our mind of how life ought to unfold. And if we're honest, our default setting is to trust ourselves. Right? It's to trust ourselves. We think to ourselves, hey, I've got this. I've got this. I can get through this. I I know what's best. You know? I'm I'm gonna figure it out. But the writer of Proverbs says the intentional life begins when we recognize that we are not the best guide for our journey.”

#GuidedByTheSpirit
“So as I walked the trails that week, I kept thinking, isn't that the picture of the Christian life? God has not called us to wander aimlessly through life hoping we eventually stumble into his will. He has called us into an intentional journey. He's given us a mission. He has placed us in community where every person has different gifts. He's given us his word as our map and his holy spirit as our guide. And while we may not know everything that lies around, the next bend in our lives, we do know the one who does.”
