No matter how broken or unfair your past may seem, God is able to redeem every hurt, every injustice, and every moment of darkness for His glory. He does not waste your pain; instead, He weaves it into the story of redemption, using even the most difficult chapters of your life as the boldest ink to display His power and love. When you surrender your story to Him, He transforms what the enemy meant for harm into a testimony of deliverance and hope, making your life a living proclamation of His faithfulness. [12:57]
Genesis 50:20 (ESV)
As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.
Reflection: What is one painful part of your past that you have tried to hide or forget? How might God be inviting you to surrender it to Him so He can use it for His glory and the encouragement of others?
Even in the darkest seasons, when it feels like your prayers go unheard and your tears are unseen, God is attentive and faithful to His promises. The Israelites suffered in Egypt for generations, but God never forgot them; at the appointed time, He remembered His covenant and acted to deliver them. Your cries and prayers are never wasted—God stores every tear and, in His perfect timing, brings redemption and restoration beyond what you could imagine. [20:21]
Exodus 2:23-25 (ESV)
During those many days the king of Egypt died, and the people of Israel groaned because of their slavery and cried out for help. Their cry for rescue from slavery came up to God. And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. God saw the people of Israel—and God knew.
Reflection: When have you felt like God was silent in your suffering? Can you look back now and see ways He was working behind the scenes or preparing to answer your prayers?
Freedom in Christ is not just about being saved from sin, but about boldly living out and sharing the story of what God has done in your life. Many remain paralyzed by fear or shame, afraid to let others know the depths from which God has delivered them. But true liberty comes when you allow your past to become a platform for God’s glory, testifying to His redemptive power and helping others find hope and freedom in Him. [26:10]
Revelation 12:11 (ESV)
And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.
Reflection: Who is one person you could encourage today by sharing a part of your testimony—how God has redeemed you from your own “brick-making” days?
God often selects those who have suffered, been oppressed, or felt forgotten to become the greatest storytellers of His redemption. He transforms slaves into soldiers, the oppressed into vessels of His glory, and uses tears rather than thrones to reveal His heart. When you realize you are not forgotten but chosen for a divine mission, your life takes on new purpose and power, becoming a beacon of hope for others walking through darkness. [32:37]
1 Corinthians 1:27-29 (ESV)
But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.
Reflection: In what ways has your weakness or brokenness become a place where God’s strength and glory have been most visible to others?
God’s redemptive story is still being written, and you are invited to be an active participant, not just a recipient. Your life is meant to be the ink in God’s inkwell, telling the world of His love, mercy, and power. No matter what the world has tried to do to silence or suppress your story, God never left you nor forsaken you. He calls you to walk in true freedom, to bear His image, and to help usher in His kingdom by sharing the story only you can tell. [39:46]
Matthew 5:14-16 (ESV)
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Reflection: What is one step you can take this week to let your light shine and actively participate in telling God’s redemptive story through your life?
There are moments in life when it feels as though the darkness of our past, or the pain we’ve endured, has written the story of who we are. Yet, God’s purpose is not to erase our scars, but to use them as the very ink with which He tells His story of redemption. Looking at Abraham’s call in Genesis 15, we see that God did not promise an easy path. Instead, He told Abraham that his descendants would be strangers, oppressed for 400 years. This was not a punishment, but a stage for God’s redemptive power to be displayed. The Israelites’ suffering in Egypt was not the result of their sin, but a canvas for God to reveal His glory and deliverance.
Many of us have walked through seasons of bondage, oppression, or loss—sometimes through no fault of our own. Some were born into difficult circumstances, others had innocence stolen before they even had a life to give to Christ. In those moments, it can feel as if God is silent, as if our prayers go unheard. But every tear, every groan, every silent night is seen and stored by God. He is not absent; He is preparing to write a story through us that the world needs to hear.
The Western mindset often tells us that the most important thing is our personal salvation, but the greater call is to let our lives display the story of a soon-coming King. Salvation is the beginning, not the end. True freedom comes when we surrender our past, our pain, and even our shame, allowing God to use them as the boldest ink for His redemptive story. The Israelites’ identity as slaves was so ingrained that even after deliverance, they struggled to walk in freedom. Many today are paralyzed by fear, afraid that if others knew their story, they would not be loved. But God’s love is not conditional, and His purpose is not thwarted by our past.
God chooses the broken, the oppressed, the overlooked, to display His glory. He uses tears, not thrones, to reveal His heart. When we realize we are not forgotten, but chosen for a divine mission, everything changes. The boldest testimonies come from the darkest places. Only those who have lived in chains can truly understand the beauty of freedom. God’s story is still being written, and He wants to use your life as the ink. Will you let Him?
Genesis 15:12-16 (ESV) — > As the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell on Abram. And behold, dreadful and great darkness fell upon him. Then the Lord said to Abram, “Know for certain that your offspring will be sojourners in a land that is not theirs and will be servants there, and they will be afflicted for four hundred years. But I will bring judgment on the nation that they serve, and afterward they shall come out with great possessions. As for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried in a good old age. And they shall come back here in the fourth generation, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete.”
Exodus 2:23-25 (ESV) — > During those many days the king of Egypt died, and the people of Israel groaned because of their slavery and cried out for help. Their cry for rescue from slavery came up to God. And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. God saw the people of Israel—and God knew.
Revelation 12:11 (ESV) — > And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.
Bondage was not an accident, it was an illustration of eternity, y'all hear me? Through it, God used Israel to show all creation what it means to be delivered, redeemed and set apart for a holy purpose. Hear me, through you God will show this world what true redemption looks like. [00:18:23] (25 seconds) #BondageIllustratesEternity
The only way that past hurt and pain can ever be fully delivered, if it's used for the glory of telling the most powerful story that's ever been told, that is being told today, amen church. [00:19:43] (16 seconds) #PainUsedForGlory
When it's God's time to tell his story in and through your life and you already gave up your life because it was stolen from you, God will restore everything the enemy stole from you. The enemy tried to overwhelm, to keep, to destroy, but God, church, it's not how we start life, it's how we finish it and we go out burning for the glory of God in our life. [00:20:21] (30 seconds) #FinishStrongForGod
Blessed are those who are poor in spirit. Blessed are those who cry out and mourn. And when you cried out, you did cry out to a God that's ever hearing, ever watching, ever caring. And you're saying, but He didn't immediately impact my life when I wanted Him to. But God knew what it was going to take to make you a prowse warrior for the kingdom of God. [00:31:11] (21 seconds) #BlessedAreTheBroken
He chooses slaves to be soldiers. Amen? He uses the oppressed to display His glory. He uses tears, not thrones, to reveal His heart. When you realize you aren't forgotten and you weren't a forgotten soul, but one chosen for a divine mission, it will change the trajectory of your life if you can get this. [00:32:40] (25 seconds) #SlavesToSoldiers
Only people who have lived in chains understand the beauty and the depth of spiritual freedom. The true depth, the true beauty of it. Only people who have felt unloved can grasp the wonder of love that will never leave them nor forsake them. Only people. [00:37:10] (18 seconds) #ChainsRevealFreedom
We were created to be image bearers of our king. We were created to tell his story to this world. And I don't care what the world has tried to do to you to suppress that divine truth. I don't care how dark your hour has ever been. God never left you nor forsaken you. [00:39:54] (19 seconds) #CreatedToTellHisStory
