Genesis 27 brings Esau to his father’s bedside expecting the blessing that belonged with his birthright, only to find that Jacob has already received it. The birthright carried a double portion of the estate, family authority, and a future tied to the father’s name. The blessing was the father’s irrevocable validation of that inheritance.

Esau had the birthright because he came first, but Esau treated it cheap when hunger, fatigue, and despair got hold of him. The birthright and the blessing come through Jesus, not through deception or a cheap exchange. God’s children must not let the devil derail their future through detours, tricks, and shortcuts.
