Revelation 19 throws heaven open and sets Christ on a white horse, named Faithful and True. The Rider judges and makes war in righteousness, not rage. His eyes flame, his crowns are many, his robe is dipped in blood, and his name is called the Word of God. His sword is not steel but speech. His mouth strikes nations, his rule is a rod of iron, his feet tread the winepress of the wrath of Almighty God, and his vesture reads King of kings and Lord of lords. This is not allegory. This King can arrive any moment. Lamps must be trimmed. Hearts must be ready.
Christ refuses to be handled like any creature. The Author of life cannot be killed. He lays his life down and takes it up again, just as he said, and every line of Scripture has prepared that path. Deuteronomy names God Lord of lords. Isaiah names the Son Mighty God, the mighty warrior. The exodus sketch stands behind it all. Pharaoh plays the tyrant. Moses mediates a deliverance. Christ, the greater Moses, does not just move a people out of a land. He liberates souls out of bondage to the god of this age.
Satan still operates as the little lord. The whole world lies in wickedness. In Adam all die. But in Christ, the eternal Son who never disobeyed, all who believe live. That is more than a slogan. Union with Christ remakes a person. Those in the Beloved are accepted, robed, and restored. Lord in Philippians is Jehovah. Every knee will bow. The gospel calls for allegiance now, not someday.
Mark 5 puts this liberation on the ground. A man among the tombs, naked, untamable, cutting himself, meets Jesus. Legion runs and bows, names him Son of the Most High God, and then flees. The man sits, clothed and in his right mind. That is what the Mighty Warrior does. He strips off filth and clothes sinners with his righteousness. New creation, not a new leaf. In Christ or in Adam. No third family.
The Spirit never flatters the flesh. Ears that itch will gather teachers that soothe, but sound doctrine saves and sanctifies. God needs nothing from anyone. From him and through him and to him are all things. The delivered are not parked on the boat. They are sent home to tell what great things the Lord has done and how he has had compassion. The gospel of the kingdom must be preached to the whole world. If the end comes Thursday, belief must not be delayed today.
Key Takeaways
- 1. Christ rides in faithful and true [04:27] His victory is righteous, not reckless. His sword is his word, which judges and heals with the same authority. Allegiance to him is not optional, because his name is King of kings and Lord of lords. The text calls for present surrender, not future negotiation. [04:27]
- 2. In Adam all die; in Christ live [09:09] Headship is not theory but destiny. Adam’s disobedience stamped death into every story, but Christ’s obedience writes life into those who believe, follow, and walk in the light. Sanctification is likeness to the Son, not nicer habits. The question is location: in Adam or in Christ. [09:09]
- 3. The Mighty Warrior frees captives [14:46] The greater exodus is from soul-slavery, not geography. The god of this age blinds minds, but the glory of God shines in the face of Jesus Christ. His deliverance breaks chains that religion and willpower cannot snap. Love begins in his pursuit, not human performance. [14:46]
- 4. The delivered are sent to testify [35:52] The man once among tombs becomes a herald at home. New life seeks fellowship, but it also embraces mission. Testimony is not a script but a story of mercy, told with truth and tears. Evangelism ripens wherever gratitude remembers, God had compassion on me. [35:52]
