#AllToGod
“``We would look at them today and call them irresponsible. We would say, well, yeah, yeah, but God also gives you common sense. So, take care of yourself first. Then, if you have anything left over, you can take care of God's kingdom. And church, can I just tell you, I get it? That is not a biblical perspective of following Jesus. It is all his. All of it.”

#PrayerFirst
“``What we learn from that, the first couple of chapters is that Nehemiah prayed and fasted and sought God's plan for his life. And that's how any work of God starts, isn't it? Like, I mean, for so many people who want, you know, we live in a day and age where anybody with a phone can become an influencer and we just think like, I can just post a couple of videos on my Insta, on my TikTok and become famous and monetize and then I'm an influencer, I'm good. And we forget the most important step of serving God, which is to fast and pray and to seek the Lord.”

#BiblicalJustice
“``Like, this is a was a biblical condition that they were given back hundreds of years ago, thousands of years ago, to be able to fulfill a biblical oath. Do you see that Nehemiah is not just calling them to do good. He is calling them to be godly? That is the difference in social justice and biblical justice. Social justice calls us to be good. Biblical justice calls us to be godly. And godliness includes doing good. Just doesn't stop there.”

#GraceNotGrit
“``And the fact is, here's the truth, I just want to be real with all of you. The truth is, you will not on your own. You cannot on your own. Because the truth is we all are bent to sin. We all have distractions. We all have sin in our life. We've all fallen short of God's glory. And the fact is, if you're trying to do it on your own, you can say amen, you can praise the Lord, but you cannot fulfill your promises to God. So here's what the New Testament says, and all of God's promises are yes and amen in Christ Jesus. The way we keep our promises to God have nothing to do with us being good enough, but the fact that Jesus was good enough to die in our place. This is how we can make it to Monday.”

#LiveGenerously
“``Church, a way that we fight against greed is generosity and if we have developed a lifestyle for ourselves, that we have bought the houses we've bought and bought the cars that we've bought and made the lifestyle decisions that we've made and none of them allow us to be generous for the gospel or go get back to work and build the walls of the church. I don't mean physical walls, I'm talking about the kingdom. Then that lifestyle does not match with the new life that God has created us for. And it will be a long journey, but we can repent and we can get to a place where we are a generous people.”

#JusticeInAction
“``And they get called out, and look at what Nehemiah does. Nehemiah doesn't just call them out. Nehemiah offers to be a part of the solution. He says, I and my brothers and my servants are lending them money and grain. I'm not just telling you to stop. I'm putting my money forward and I'm gonna help make it right. Do you see how that's what Jesus followers do, church? We don't just call out injustices with our thumbs. We call out injustices with our with our pockets, with our resources, with our money, with our prayers, and with our hands.”

#RepentanceChanges
“``Number two, repentance is about fearing God, it's also about caring about God's reputation reputation among the nations. See, the problem was Nehemiah called them out and said, you're doing exactly what the pagans do. What are you doing to God's reputation? We went among the nations and said, our God is the one true God. And how would they ever know? Because we're acting just like the rest of them. Repentance says, I'm not just upset I got caught. I'm upset that I may have tarnished the glory of God. That's repentance. Number three key to repentance is they changed. They began to show generosity and there was actually actionable items that they did to show that there was a change inside of them. Repentance is not just feeling bad. Repentance is also turning away and living and walking in a new life.”

#ServeForHisName
“``I love that Nehemiah instead of going to the people and saying, look at all the good I've done for you, instead goes to God and says, I hope you saw it. See, when we are doing things for God, his opinion and him seeing it and his affirmation in our life is all that we need. We don't need someone else patting us on the back all the time. And so, I see that Nehemiah, he didn't want the power or the prestige or the wealth of being governor. He wanted to see God's name being made famous among all the nations. He wanted to see the poor and the wounded served and healed.”
