“``And so if this is who you are now, redeemed, forgiven, transformed, a living trophy of God's grace, then here here's what this means. You don't fight sin for acceptance by God, but you fight sin from God's acceptance that he already has for you. You don't obey to earn God's love, but you obey because you already have it. If you're redeemed, that means that you're set free. The power of sin has been broken, and you are no longer carrying around that guilt. So you can say no to sin, you can walk in newness of life, you can be transformed, and we should look different. And when we do, God gets the glory.”

“Redemption is precious. Redemption, it's not God just giving a little help to people who are mostly fine. Redemption isn't God just offering advice for people who need a little spiritual tune up. The word redemption here in the text, it literally means to ransom. Redemption means that you were in captivity, it means that you were in bondage, that you were guilty. Redemption means that you could not free yourself. Because it's one thing to say, I am suffering and I need a helper, but it's another thing entirely to say, I'm in bondage, I'm enslaved, and I need a savior. Because you don't just need a little help, you don't just need some spiritual boost, you don't need a second chance, what you need is a redeemer.”

“Second thing this means for us, means that you can live with hope because your future is secure. Hope it's not wishful thinking for the redeemed. It is blood bought. Christ didn't just pay for your forgiveness, he paid for your future. Your redemption is not fragile. It cannot be undone by a bad week that you had, a lingering struggle, or a moment of weakness. You are not walking toward an uncertain ending. You are walking toward a guaranteed future. Our redemption isn't tied to our performance but to what Christ did on the cross. You don't have to wake up wondering if God still loves you, whether he still holds you, whether he still plans to bring you home one day. Your hope is anchored in the unchanging grace of God and the unstoppable plan of redemption that began before the foundation of the world. So you can live with hope, a real, deep, true hope, because your story's already been written and that last chapter is glory.”

“And and so please hear me when I say this, you cannot redeem yourself, but Christ can. You can't pay the debt, but Christ already has. You cannot break your chains, but Christ came to set captives free. The redeemer who shed his blood for sinners offers redemption to you freely and fully and finally. It's not because you deserve it, it's not because you've earned it, but it's because he delights to save people. So if you turn your faith in to Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, the father will welcome you, forgive you, and make you his own. You can walk out of bondage today. You can walk into freedom today, and you can be redeemed.”
