#JesusPreparesAPlace
“And so what is Jesus doing? Jesus is saying at this point, he is getting down on one knee, and he is saying, I am going, but I'm not leaving. I am going because I am going to prepare a place in my father's house. Prepare a place for you to come and be with me. Leaving and waiting are two totally different things. So what are the other parts of a Jewish wedding? The bride price. What was the bride price? Jesus himself. Jesus himself was the price that was paid when he hung on a cross to win you back that you might become part of his household.”

#ThomasSeeksTheWay
“But Thomas doesn't get it. He's like, I I don't get it, Jesus. Just how how can we come? Like, we don't know where you we don't know the way. Help us to know the way, and then I'll make my own way there. It's kind of what Thomas is saying, like, just show me sort of the direction, and I'll figure out how to get there. And to that question, Jesus replies with a famous line. Thomas, I am the way. I am the truth, and I am the life. I'm the way to get to the father's house. Or to put it another way, Thomas, it's not about the room, it's about the groom.”

#AbundantZoeLife
“Which is why when Jesus comes and says that you might have Zoe life, abundant God given life, as a Christian, you really can have your body falling apart. You can have a bad back or a bad diagnosis. You can feel like your bios is experiencing all the things that are subject to death, and you can still be ridiculously happy. Why? Because your zoe can be growing. Because Jesus says, I am the way, the truth, and the zoe.”

#SpiritGivesZoe
“And there are things that you can do to go and improve your BIOS, and improve your psyche. You can exercise more, and you can sleep better, and you can eat more vegetables, and you will improve your BIOS life. Or you can go away, and you can meditate. You can be grateful. You can have positive affirmations, and probably these things will improve your psyche. But the one thing you can never improve by yourself is your zoe because it comes from somewhere outside of you. The bible says that flesh gives birth to flesh. Bios and psyche give birth to bios and psyche, but spirit gives birth to spirit. Zoe gives birth to zoe.”

#SayYesToTheGroom
“Because Jesus was clear. I am the way, the truth, and the Zoe. And how do you come to life? You say yes to the groom. You say yes to Jesus Christ who is knelt down in front of you ring in hand saying, form a covenant with me. Say yes to me, and I will go and prepare a place for you for all eternity because there are many rooms in my father's house, and there is space for you. And while you wait, I'm gonna send my Holy Spirit to empower you in the waiting. It is as simple and as complicated as that. Will you say yes?”

#JesusAlwaysTrue
“Since the beginning of time, and the snake who found himself in paradise, the whole of creation has become infiltrated and contaminated with lies. And since that point, humanity is groping around trying to find what is really true, what is really solid and strong in this world of vapor and shadow. And Jesus steps into all of that and he says, it's me. The thing you can trust, the thing that is always good, always true, always consistent, always congregant, it's me.”

#OneWayThroughChrist
“But actually, when you take a proper look at world truths and world religions, they are superficially the same but fundamentally different. Just like Steve Turner says, they differ on creation, sin, heaven, hell, God, and salvation. Ultimately, the reason that they are so fundamentally different is that they all disagree on the most important question of all, how do you get to God? how does God get to you? And Christianity exclusively has a simple answer for that. The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. That you don't earn your way up the way the truth and the love came down.”

#PrivateWordOfComfort
“And so, the first thing that I want to tell you is that we have to pay attention to when and how does Jesus say this particular thing. This isn't in a place where we read, as Lauren just read for us. This isn't Jesus walking through the streets of Jerusalem with a bullhorn, telling the pharisees, you're not gonna get there because I am the way. Actually, when Jesus says this, it is to a group of his closest friends, and it is a word of encouragement. The night before he dies, when they are struggling with anxious hearts, and Jesus is trying to make peace with everything that is about to happen. And so, as we are going to see, this word of Jesus is exclusive, but it was not designed as a judgment. When Jesus says that it was actually an invitation to anxious people telling them how to get home.”
