True satisfaction comes from hungering and thirsting for a right standing with God, not from the temporary fulfillment of earthly desires. Just as physical hunger drives us to pursue food, spiritual hunger should drive us to pursue God’s presence and righteousness above all else. When we are truly hungry for God, we will seek Him with passion and intention, and He promises to fill us with His presence and purpose. Examine what you are most hungry for—what you pursue reveals your heart’s true appetite. Let your deepest longing be for God, and He will satisfy you in ways nothing else can. [12:22]
Matthew 5:6 (ESV)
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”
Reflection: What is one area of your life where you have been seeking satisfaction apart from God? How can you intentionally redirect your hunger toward Him today?
The presence of God is not just a momentary experience but a saturating reality that fills, leads, and empowers His people for their journey. When the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle, it was so tangible that Moses could not enter, and the people only moved forward when the cloud lifted. In the same way, God’s presence is meant to fill our lives, guide our steps, and be the source of our strength and direction. Seek to be so filled with His glory that it overflows into every part of your life, and let His presence be the signpost for your next steps. [35:46]
Exodus 40:34-38 (ESV)
Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud settled on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. Throughout all their journeys, whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the people of Israel would set out. But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out till the day that it was taken up. For the cloud of the Lord was on the tabernacle by day, and fire was in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel throughout all their journeys.
Reflection: In what practical way can you pause today to invite and recognize God’s presence before making a decision or taking your next step?
God has appointed and ordained your steps, and nothing can thwart His purpose for your life when you walk in righteousness. Even when the enemy tries to discourage or distract you, remember that your journey is not accidental or coincidental—God’s providence is at work. You are called and appointed by God for specific purposes, and He will accomplish what He has set out to do through you. Embrace your calling with confidence, knowing that your steps are ordered and that God’s plans for you are yes and amen. [27:50]
Psalm 37:23-24 (ESV)
The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand.
Reflection: Where have you doubted God’s direction or appointment in your life? How can you declare and walk in the confidence that your steps are ordained by Him today?
Our unfaithfulness often shows up in what we pursue that has nothing to do with God, but He calls us to change our appetites and seek Him first. It is easy to become distracted by lesser things, but God desires that we be hungry and thirsty for Him, allowing His Spirit to convict, transform, and redirect our desires. When we surrender our appetites to God, He plants His character in us, changing our integrity and reputation. Let today be a day of honest repentance and a fresh pursuit of the things that matter most to God. [51:04]
Colossians 3:1-2 (ESV)
If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
Reflection: What is one appetite or pursuit you need to surrender to God today so that your desires align more closely with His?
God is raising up spiritual mothers and fathers—people who will multiply His influence for generations by embracing their calling and pouring into others. You are not just called for your own sake, but to impact spiritual children and grandchildren, leaving a legacy of faith that outlasts your own life. As you receive God’s mantle and step into your calling, trust that He will use you to alter lives for eternity and to raise up others who will do the same. Say yes to being fruitful and multiplying in the Spirit, and let God’s new creative work begin in you today. [57:37]
2 Timothy 2:2 (ESV)
And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.
Reflection: Who is one person you can intentionally encourage or disciple this week as part of your spiritual legacy?
Hunger is a powerful force—it drives us, shapes our pursuits, and reveals what truly matters in our lives. Just as physical hunger compels us to seek food, spiritual hunger draws us toward God and His presence. When we become deeply hungry for God, our spiritual “stomachs” begin to growl, and we find ourselves pursuing Him with a passion that cannot be satisfied by anything else. This hunger is not a fleeting feeling but a deep longing for righteousness, for right standing with the Lord, and for the fullness of His presence in our lives.
God’s Word is sharper than any two-edged sword, able to divide soul from spirit, and it calls us to examine what we are truly hungry for. Too often, we chase after things that have nothing to do with God, becoming unfaithful in our pursuits. Yet, God invites us to shift our appetites—to hunger and thirst for Him above all else. When we do, He promises satisfaction, not just a temporary filling, but a deep, abiding fulfillment that comes from being in right relationship with Him.
Throughout history, God has appointed people for specific purposes, equipping them with the gifts and anointing needed for their calling. Like the craftsmen in Exodus, each of us is called to something unique, and God’s presence is the essential ingredient for fulfilling that call. Our gatherings, our appointments, and even our daily routines can become places where God’s glory dwells if we are hungry for Him. The cloud of God’s presence, like a thick humidity, can saturate our lives, making us unmistakably marked by His glory.
But the enemy will do anything to distract us, to make us settle for lesser hungers, or to convince us that we are unworthy or unable. Yet, God’s call is irrevocable, and our steps are ordained. We must move from simply knowing we are called to actively embracing and doing what God has set before us. This requires repentance, a change of appetite, and a willingness to let God’s Spirit fill us, transform our character, and use us to impact generations.
As we yield to this hunger for God, we become spiritual mothers and fathers, raising up others in faith, multiplying the impact of God’s kingdom. Old things pass away, and new, creative things are birthed in our lives. Let us declare together: “I am hungry for God. I am appointed by God. I will do what He calls me to do.”
