The return of Jesus is not a myth or wishful thinking, but a certain promise grounded in His own words and the testimony of Scripture. Just as the world will witness a cosmic sign—the sign of the Son of Man—so too will every eye see Jesus coming in power and great glory, bringing an end to evil and fulfilling the hope of all who trust in Him. The darkness of the world will only serve to highlight the brilliance of His coming, assuring believers that the story ends with Christ’s victory. [33:25]
Matthew 24:29-31 (ESV)
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”
Reflection: In what area of your life do you need to replace cynicism or doubt with the confident hope that Jesus will return as He promised?
Throughout history, God has fulfilled every prophecy He has spoken, from Israel’s exile and return to the hundreds of prophecies about the Messiah that Jesus fulfilled. This track record of faithfulness assures us that the promises about Christ’s return and the final victory over evil are trustworthy. Even when the world scoffs or our own hearts grow weary, we can anchor our faith in the reliability of God’s Word, knowing that what He has said, He will surely do. [45:01]
2 Peter 3:3-4 (ESV)
“Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, ‘Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.’”
Reflection: What is one promise from God’s Word that you have struggled to believe, and how can you remind yourself of His faithfulness today?
When Jesus returns, He will gather every person who has genuinely trusted in Him, from every corner of the earth and every era of history. No believer will be forgotten or overlooked; His angels will gather the elect from the four winds, ensuring that all who belong to Him are brought together in His presence. This promise brings comfort and assurance, especially in times of loss or uncertainty, reminding us that our future is secure in Christ. [48:25]
John 14:2-3 (ESV)
“In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”
Reflection: Who in your life needs to hear the assurance that Jesus will not leave behind anyone who trusts in Him, and how can you share this hope with them today?
No matter how fierce the opposition or how dark the times, the gospel of Jesus Christ cannot be stamped out. History has shown, from the persecuted church in China to the coming tribulation, that God’s power to save is unstoppable. Even when evil seems to prevail, God is at work multiplying His people and spreading His truth, assuring us that our rescue is coming and that nothing can separate us from His love. [56:13]
Romans 1:16 (ESV)
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”
Reflection: Where do you see darkness or opposition in your world, and how can you boldly trust that God’s gospel will prevail there?
As we long for Jesus to come and set every wrong right, we are called to remain faithful to the gospel and to pray for those who are far from God. The delay in Christ’s return is not a reason for complacency, but an opportunity to share the hope of salvation and to persevere in faith, trusting that God’s timing is perfect and that our labor in the Lord is not in vain. [59:59]
Matthew 28:19-20 (ESV)
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Reflection: What is one step you can take today to be faithful to the gospel and to pray for someone who does not yet know Christ?
The hope of the gospel is not a distant dream or a comforting myth, but a promise rooted in the very words of Jesus and the faithfulness of God throughout history. As we look at the world around us—its brokenness, its evil, its pain—we are reminded that we are not abandoned. God has a plan, and that plan culminates in the visible, triumphant return of Jesus Christ. Just as the Bat-Signal in Gotham City was a sign that help was on the way, so too will there be a sign in the sky—the sign of the Son of Man—declaring to all creation that the King is coming.
Jesus himself spoke plainly: after the tribulation, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall, and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear. Every eye will see him, and he will come with power and great glory. This is not a hidden event, but a cosmic declaration that evil’s days are numbered and that God’s justice and mercy will prevail. The tribulation, as terrible as it will be, is limited by God’s mercy, and its end is marked by the return of Christ.
The battle of Armageddon, often misunderstood or sensationalized, is a real event in a real place, where the forces of evil will gather against God’s people. Yet, the outcome is never in doubt. Jesus, the Word of God, will return as the conquering King, and the forces of evil will be utterly defeated. The certainty of this victory is grounded in the reliability of God’s Word—prophecies fulfilled in the past assure us that future promises will also come to pass.
For those who trust in Christ, there is assurance: no one will be forgotten or left behind. Jesus will gather his people from every corner of the earth and every age, both Jew and Gentile, those who have endured the tribulation and those who have gone before. The gospel cannot be stamped out, no matter how fierce the opposition. Even in the darkest times, God’s people endure and multiply, as history has shown again and again.
In a world that tempts us to cynicism and despair, we are called to hold fast to hope. The delay of Christ’s return is not a denial of his promise, but an opportunity for more to come to faith. Our prayer remains: “Come quickly, Lord Jesus.” Until that day, we are to be faithful, confident that help is on the way and that Jesus wins in the end.
Matthew 24:29-31 (ESV) — > “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
Revelation 19:11-16 (ESV) — > Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.
2 Peter 3:3-4 (ESV) — > Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”
``Jesus wins. That's the way it ends folks. You don't have to be scared of the revelation. God wrote this to prepare us not to scare us. This is for our preparation and this is for our comfort and for our assurance to know that in the end Jesus wins. [00:44:08] (26 seconds) #NoTimeForProcrastination
God's word is completely reliable. You see one of the things that helps us is this that there have been prophecies in the past that were predicted by godly prophets and they came true. So the prophecies that are made about future events have validity. There's a prophecy that says that Israel would go into Babylonian exile and it happened. There was a prophecy that they would come back to the land and it happened. Those prophecies were fulfilled. There are over 400 prophecies that point to the identity of the Messiah and Jesus Christ fulfilled every one of those 400 prophecies beginning with where he was going to be born all the way up to his crucifixion and resurrection and everything in between and is a statistical impossibility for anyone other than the Messiah to fulfill those prophecies. Past prophecies fulfilled give us proof, give us confidence that future prophecies will be fulfilled. Jesus is coming and he's bringing the receipts. He has done it. He will do it. Jesus will gather every person who has trusted him. Jesus, when he comes back, is going to gather every person. Jesus, nobody's going to be left out. Nobody's going to be left behind. Every person who has ever believed. [00:48:43] (17 seconds) #FalseGospelCompassionateWitness
During the tribulation period, there are gonna be people who are gonna come to faith in Christ. There will be a lot. But it's gonna be hard. And the Antichrist is gonna seek to stamp out Christianity, to stamp out the gospel, to stamp out truth. But he's not powerful enough to do it because the gospel is the power of God unto salvation. [00:54:44] (21 seconds)
The devil can't stop the gospel. He can't. And the Antichrist won't be able to do it either. You see, the great assurance is this. Our rescue is coming. [00:56:06] (15 seconds)
If you're a follower of Jesus, this world has fallen and it is awful. And this week again, we mourned over children being shot while they were saying prayers at a Catholic school. This world is filled with evil with a capital E. It's real. And we wonder, God, are you going to come through? And his answer is yes. Yes. Someday he's coming. Someday he will set every wrong made right. [00:59:03] (38 seconds)
