#StopEditingGod
“Because human being always wants to edit God. Not just our papers, not just our systems. We also wanna edit God. We want a we want a God who agrees with us most of the time. We we want a god who approves our relationships and our ambitions. We want blessings and forgiveness, but not commands. We want god to just simply say yes. See, but if if that's the case, we don't want god. We want something else. You don't want God. You want a consultant. In a secular society pretending to be religious, we do not want a revelation. We want affirmation. All we want is God forsake to say, you're good. We want a God who taps us in our back and says, you're doing great. You're good. Go ahead. Do what you're doing. Wisdom begins when I stop correcting God and allow God to correct me. That's wisdom.”

#PrayForEnough
“Some of us are used to praying a selfish prayer. Give me this and give me that. Give me success. Give me more. Give me promotion. Oh, give me the right guy. Give me the life that I believe I deserve. But what if I can challenge you today? What if tomorrow morning you pray differently? What if tomorrow morning you pray, father, if you would take me if more would take me away from you, do not give it to me. If success would destroy my family, I don't want it. If influence would fill my pride, keeps me small. If opportunity would weaken my faith, I don't want it. Close the door for me. Just give me enough. I only want my daily bread. What will happen if you pray this way like agar? Keep me away from falsehood. Don't make me rich or poor. Just give me enough.”

#ContentmentNotConsumption
“The ego says, Lord, do not give me everything I could possibly desire. Give me what I you know that I can faithfully carry. See, contentment is not laziness. Contentment does not mean you refuse opportunities. Contentment means I refuse to believe that more will eventually make me whole. No. More does not always mean it will make you whole. More is more, but doesn't mean more than that, which means you can pursue a promotion and still be content. You can build a business and still be content. You can save for retirement and be content. The question is not whether you're moving forward. The question is whether your soul is being dragged by an appetite that can never say enough.”

#GuiltSignalsChange
“Our our culture says guilt is actually the problem. But I say the inability to feel guilty is the bigger problem because guilt is good. It tells us when we did something wrong. But when a person denies guilt, coming clean is impossible, and so is forgiveness. You will only be cleansed and be forgiven if you confess, but if you don't feel the guilt, if you don't have the shame, how will you confess your crime?”
