#GodIsLove
“But the bible says that God is love. This means that love is not just a fleeting thing that God is from time to time. It is the essence of God's being. God's nature is pure love. Without God, there would be no love in the world. And when I approach him in prayer, he's not holding up a a scorecard or grading my performance. He's fully present, arms wide, smiling with delight.”

#LovedBeyondMeasure
“Because you are more loved. You are more loved than you could ever imagine. God enjoys you. God enjoys you more than anybody has in your whole entire life. The scripture says that he rejoices over us with singing. And so growing in prayer for me is just leaning into love.”

#TeachUsToPray
“But but they understood that all of those things that they saw Jesus doing, that the the core of his master craftsmanship was one skill that he had. And so they didn't say, Jesus, teach us how to raise the dead or multiply food. They said, Jesus, teach us to pray. Teach us to pray. They understood that was the core, the heart, the inception point of Jesus' authority and power and the way that he lived and was at work in the world teach us to pray.”

#RunToHisPresence
“And I think that if we truly understand the love of God that was directed towards us, the love that's available to us, how he rejoices over us with singing. How even in his kindness, he invites us into repentance. Just going, oh, I've got a better life for you. There's so much more. If we truly understood and believe that that's the nature of the God who created us, who redeemed who restored us, who's making us new, then we would run to his presence.”

#PrayWithHumility
“I think one of the biggest hindrances to our prayer lives is our self sufficiency. I could do this all by myself. Thank you very much. But there's this humility and vulnerability that comes with asking. I feel the need, and so I'm gonna ask.”

#GodSizedLife
“My life has always been too big for me. I'm not smart enough or strong enough for my life. Never have been. Never will be. My life is too big for me. And, honestly, I'm really not interested in my life creating Jill sized fruit. Like, who cares? I don't want Jill sized things coming out of my life. I want god sized things coming out of my life. Right?”

#ScriptureShapesPrayer
“If God's word remain in us, if we savor the scripture, if we savor his word to our heart and even use the scriptures in our prayers, we will learn how to pray for the things that God wants to see come forth in our lives and our hearts. We'll understand his word and his ways, and we will be fruitful.”

#SavorGodsPresence
“What could happen if we could savor God's word to our hearts? If we could savor these prophetic words that come? If we could savor the goodness of God in the room as he's pouring out his holy spirit amongst us, or if we could even savor the goodness and the beauty of God as he demonstrates his love to us through one another. The context of this family community.”
