The Holy Spirit is not a reward for reaching a higher spiritual level. He is the very presence of God Himself, now dwelling within every believer. This is the beautiful culmination of God's story: a holy God choosing to live with and in His people. The Spirit is the guarantee of this relationship, the "whole package" of God's presence with us. This indwelling is the foundation of our new life in Christ. [34:16]
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth. (Acts 1:8 NASB)
Reflection: In what practical ways does recognizing the Holy Spirit as God's personal presence with you, rather than a distant force, change how you approach your daily routines and challenges?
The Christian life is not static; we are never simply coasting or standing still. There is a continual, spiritual tug-of-war happening within us, a pull between our flesh and our spirit. We are always moving in one direction or the other, either toward a deeper relationship with God or toward a life absent from Him. This movement is influenced by the choices we make and the voice we choose to follow. [46:22]
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. (Galatians 5:16-17 NASB)
Reflection: Looking back over the last week, what were some specific moments where you felt that internal tug? Which direction did you choose to move in those moments?
The Holy Spirit actively guides believers into all truth, providing divine discernment for life's decisions and dilemmas. His direction will always align with biblical truth and the heart of God. In contrast, the flesh seeks to distract us from God's purposes with lies, shame, and condemnation. Learning to distinguish between the Spirit's conviction and the enemy's condemnation is crucial for spiritual health. [48:42]
But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. (John 16:13 NASB)
Reflection: When you face a difficult decision or hear a critical inner voice, what questions can you ask to help determine if it is the Spirit's guidance or a distracting lie from the flesh?
God's Spirit desires to demonstrate His power, freedom, love, and grace through our lives for the benefit of others and the advancement of His kingdom. The flesh, however, works to dilute God's work by turning our focus inward toward self-gratification and self-protection. It encourages us to sacrifice God's great purposes for what seems good and comfortable in the moment. [53:33]
Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. (1 Corinthians 12:4-7 NASB)
Reflection: Where have you recently allowed a desire for comfort or self-protection to dilute a prompting from the Spirit to serve, give, or step out in faith for someone else?
Through Jesus's sacrifice, freedom from sin, strongholds, and condemnation has already been fully paid for and secured. The Holy Spirit is the one who delivers this freedom into our lived experience. The flesh, acting as the enemy's voice, constantly seeks to derail us by rehearsing our past failures and reminding us of our struggles, attempting to keep us from walking in the victory that is already ours. [57:31]
Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. (Romans 8:1-2 NASB)
Reflection: What specific area of your life feels held by condemnation or defeat, and what would it look like today to actively receive the delivered freedom Jesus has already provided for you in that area?
Radiate Church marks its fourteenth birthday while pressing into a series on the unseen realities of spiritual life. The Holy Spirit appears as the not-so-secret weapon, promised in Acts as the third person of the Trinity who now indwells believers and makes God’s presence a present reality. That indwelling changes the battlefield: humans no longer merely strive to reach God but experience God dwelling within, making each person a temple where spiritual warfare plays out between flesh and spirit.
A diagram of kingdom, man, and hell clarifies the stakes. Jesus forged a bridge to relationship with God through the cross; Satan offers a path to absence and destruction. People never stand motionless between those paths—momentum pulls toward one bridge or the other. Galatians and other New Testament texts describe the constant tug between flesh and spirit, so choices and habits matter; the spirit moves a person toward God, the flesh pulls away.
The Holy Spirit performs distinct work: the spirit directs (bringing discernment and truth), demonstrates (producing gifts and fruits that impact others), and delivers (bringing freedom from sin and condemnation). The flesh counters by distracting, diluting spiritual fruit, and derailing deliverance, often using shame and condemnation to stop growth. Spiritual growth and fruit take time; maturation in gifts and character unfolds through submission and practice, not instant performance.
Romans provides the core assurance: there is now no condemnation for those in Christ, and the law of the Spirit of life frees from the law of sin and death. That freedom becomes a call—to submit the will to the Spirit, to allow wants to be reshaped into God’s will, and to engage practices like baptism, prayer, and community that anchor life change. The invitation closes with a clear appeal to surrender, an offer of salvation, and a reminder that true victory comes by walking in the Spirit, not by coasting between bridges.
And so I I want you to understand there's some people that I believe are in the room, and you think, just like I used to think, that I can ride the line and stand still. You are never just coasting. You are never just standing still. I need you to hear me when I say this. We're always moving in one direction or the other. Why? Because one of these is always pulling me to one direction or the other.

But I am gonna give you some of the main things. I'm gonna give you three main things. Here's here's what happens. The spirit directs us, and the flesh distracts us. You hear me? The spirit directs us. The flat the the flesh distracts us. I love what John chapter 16 in verse 13 says about this this thing about being led by the spirit. Watch this. It says, but when he, the spirit of truth comes, he will guide you, watch this, into all the truth.

Jesus has already hung it on a cross. And it's the spirit that delivers that freedom to us. It's the indwelling of God with us. Romans chapter eight verses one through two. Man, I just want you to hear this today. Therefore, there is now, not tomorrow, not a week from now, but now, today. In 2026, as you sit in the rooms today, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

The spirit in our lives, when the spirit directs us in a way I need you to hear me when I say this. It's the spirit is leading you through the direction of God, and it will always lead you into the truth. The spirit will never lead you into something that's not biblical. You hear me? The spirit will never lead you into something that's not biblical. It's against his nature. The spirit will never lead you into something that's not true.

So when I walk through an idea to where I'm like, okay. I'm distract I I I feel too much. Don't know enough. I'm not good enough to lead a life group. I'm not okay enough in my life. I don't know how to serve. The church doesn't want me. I if people knew my store too many people know my story. I can't invite anybody. I'm too unholy. I can't pray. That's shame and condemnation that's distracting you from the voice of the spirit. You follow me today?

We are not here just to gather on a Sunday, clap our hands, high five each other, and go, alright. Our mission's done. No. We're here to do that, and then go reach more people, and love more people, and make room for more people, and watch a holy God dwell with more unholy people. It's the vision of the church. It's the mission. And it's only gonna happen when we allow the spirit to demonstrate through us, not the flesh to dilute what God's trying to do.

Throughout the old testament, that's what happens. New testament comes, Jesus comes along, paves the path, we'll talk about this in a moment, for what? Unholy people to now dwell with a holy God. Now watch this. The goal of the church, the goal of Christianity, the goal of God, hear me, is not about getting you to dwell with God, but getting God to dwell with you. And the Holy Spirit is the whole encumbrance, if you will. It's the whole whole shebang, if we wanna go with that. Right? The whole package of God now dwelling with you.

The Holy Spirit is not about, I'm at another level. I pray different. I believe different. I live different. I worship different. No. No. No. It's not about another level. It's about it is God dwelling with you. And so whenever we give our lives to Jesus and the Holy Spirit becomes a part of our life, It is the the culmination of God going, oh, man. It's the beginning of the rest of the story of God dwelling with us and God living with us and God living in us. Because as the New Testament says, we are now the temple.
