#LiftUpYourEyes
“``So lift up your eyes, brothers and sisters. Lift up your trembling heart. Lift up your weary spirit. You are not alone. You have God's own spirit, Jesus living in you. The spirit of the living God is in you and he is in a he is among his church. One day, oh glorious day, when the bride stands before the bridegroom, radiant and ready, it will be have been the spirit who has carried her all the way home. And he will have used us as his hands and feet. All of this by grace. All of this by God. All of this through the spirit and all for the glory of Jesus Christ.”

#SpiritIsEssential
“Church, if you would pause for just a minute and consider this. If the Holy Spirit withdrew his presence from us, and everything we knew collapsed to dust, our singing without the spirit would be only noise. Our preaching without the spirit would be powerless. Our programs would have no effect. Our unity would be fractured. Our courage would be evaporated and our hope would be fake without the spirit.”

#CalledOutAssembly
“So the church is not the community gathered. The church is the called out assembly. A community gathering could be about any subject. It could be about a fundraiser. It could be about a garden project. It could be about some other worthy cause. It could be the community gathering. A church is a special thing because it is a called out assembly of people blood bought by the Lord Jesus Christ who've come together to celebrate and worship that reality. The church is called out by Jesus, for Jesus, and the ramifications of how we believe about this will determine how we practice our corporate gathering.”

#WorshipForGod
“For today, I wanna ask you a question. Who is the church service for? Is the church service for the community, just the neighbors who come together? Is the church service for our friendship group to come and be together? Who is the church service for? And I would put forward to you that the church service is for God. It is for the Lord Jesus Christ. It is for the worship of the father, son, and the holy spirit. That's who the church service is for.”

#BloodUnitesAll
“Who are the two he's talking about in Ephesians two? The Jews and the Gentiles. Great animosity between these two groups. Those two he has because he brought peace, he has made even those two in the church. And he has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility. It took the blood of Jesus to make multiracial churches. It took the blood of Jesus to make multi, ethnic churches. It you know, some churches are homogeneous units. Everybody's the same. They're all young or they're all old. You know it takes the blood of Jesus to put together old people and young people and black people and white people. People from from Asia and people from Africa and people from Central America. It takes the blood of Jesus to bring people together. And this is the miracle. It is the spirit who forms the church.”

#ChurchIsHospital
“So who are who are the people in the church? Those people who were far off from God, ignorant of God, cold of heart, blinded of eyes, deaf of hearing. But now in Christ Jesus, you who were once far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace. Who's he? For Jesus himself is our peace. For those of us that were far away, those of us addicted, those of us in trouble with the law, those of us estranged from our families, those of us with personality difficulties, and those of us with with with deepest problems of anxiety and various sorts. All of those people have been brought together in a church. So in a way the church is a hospital because nobody comes to God who isn't sick.”

#PeaceNotConflict
“This is why church warfare should be an oxymoron. Disagreement in the local church should be absurd. So making peace by his own blood, bringing people who couldn't stand each other into one body, he's made peace so that he might reconcile us both to God in one body. How? Through the cross. Thereby killing the hostility. The spirit forms the church not only by creating something new, but the spirit forms the church by uniting diverse people into one body.”
38s
#MissionalAssembly
“What is a church? A church member is a member of the body of Christ. What is a church? A church is a part of the body of Christ. Not just a group of of friendly people gathering around a good cause. We are a called out assembly, not a community gathered. And this called out assembly is a missional assembly. Meaning that we are here for a purpose. To glorify God, worship him, and take the good news of Jesus Christ far and wide.”
