#SpiritInSalvation
“The Holy Spirit is active in salvation. He is the one who's doing the calling. He's the one who's breathing life into your dead spiritual body. The Ruach El Ruach who breathes life upon creation, breathes life into your spiritual life, into you. we see the father in salvation. We see the son in redemption and we see the holy spirit in the calling. And then ultimately, we see the whole three of them joining up to celebrate the eventual glorification. Hasten the day. Okay.”

#PossessTheSpirit
“My friends, those of you who are born again, if you are a Christian, you do possess the holy spirit. Romans eight nine says, if you do not possess the spirit, you are not one of his children. So all of us that are Christ followers, in sincerity, if we're truly born again, we possess the Holy Spirit. But I understand in the culture and all the sounds around about us and sometimes in our lack of discipline, we don't feel the Holy Spirit and we're not receiving the potential comfort that God promised would make us not feel like orphans even though we may feel alone in our earthly perspective at any given time.”

#FilledForMission
“So the filling of the Holy Spirit, I mentioned and introduced this sermon by speaking of it in a therapeutic capacity. But really it should be for missional purposes and the therapeutic outcome is just a fringe benefit. How are we going to think about the ministry of the spirit? I wanna, over the next few weeks, talk about these things. What is the Holy Spirit doing in the world? Why did God send him? Why did Jesus say it was better that he come than for Jesus himself to stay? Because the Holy Spirit has a thing that he is doing. What things?”

#NotLeftAlone
“Oh, what a lonely existence, an orphan. To have had parents perhaps and lost them suddenly, tragically. And, oh, how awful to be an orphan. How terrible for the disciples who had left all homes, lands, businesses, and had gone to follow Jesus anticipating the kingdom's initiation and its consummation and fulfillment. And yet, they're hearing the story that just is, they're hearing the story that Jesus is going away. But Jesus comforted them by saying, I will not leave you.”

#CertainRedemption
“Each of these five steps, the foreknowing, predestining, the calling, the justifying, and the glorifying, they're all certainties. For everyone who's pre pre for foreknown and predestined, every one of them without without any fail of it, everyone who is foreknown will be glorified. Jesus said, you can't you can't you can't get out from this. I will hold you in my hands. And the father said, I will hold you in my hands. And you think you're pretty secure if the first and second person of the trinity are holding you in his hands. No one can snatch you out and you can't escape because the love of God compels you.”

#SpiritCalledFaith
“And then he acted upon that divine decree in what is called a calling. This calling is by the Holy Spirit in the church. In your heart, the Holy Spirit is the one who opens your eyes and softens your heart and gives you the ability to believe. Do you know that you, in your natural situation, you can't believe the good news of Jesus Christ? You can believe all kinds of inferior gospels. You can believe in a certain religion. You can believe in in the local assembly, your friendship. You can believe in all of that, but you cannot believe the true gospel of Jesus Christ, the gospel of grace, the gospel of salvation, the gospel of eternal life granted by faith. You can't believe this unless the Holy Spirit helps you.”

#TrinityHarmony
“The father wills the divine plan. The son accomplishes the plan through his person and work. And the spirit applies the divine plan throughout the cosmos and in and for believers. This is not hierarchy but harmony. There is no hierarchy really in the trinity. There is voluntary submission. Jesus said I came to do the will of the father. Being totally equal to the holy spirit and to the father, Jesus submitted himself and agreed to follow the plan, the divine plan orchestrated, originated, Jesus accomplishes it. And then the spirit applies that accomplishment.”

#SalvationIsPurpose
“So by the way, your salvation is not that you would be baptized or that you would join the church. Your salvation is not that you would feel better about yourself. Your salvation is not that you would have a friendship network that you could come and fellowship with and enjoy each other's company. Your salvation is, determined by God for a holy purpose. That holy purpose cost Jesus his life. And we should take our our discipleship, our holy living very, very thoughtfully, soberly, and seriously. Amen?”
