54s
“``God will either see his spirit inside of you or he won't. And if the spirit of Christ is not inside of you, then God's judgment because of your sin and rebellion will fall on you. But if the spirit of God is inside of you because of your faith in his one and only son, when God sees you ready, his judgment passes over you. Some of you are familiar with the day of Passover in the old testament when Moses was leading the Israelites out of the slavery of Egypt and God passes over their houses because they put the blood of the lamb over their house. When the spirit of God comes inside of you, the blood of Jesus covers you. And when God sees you, he doesn't see his your sin. He sees his son Jesus and you are classified as righteous. Come on somebody. Thank you God for that promise.”
48s
“Friends, how we handle the gifts of the spirit is so delicate and again with a spirit of humility and making sure that we're using them in the way that God wants us to use them. Not to not to elevate or highlight ourselves, but to point to Jesus. So what do we know? Well, the Holy Spirit's role in our life, number one, to seal us for the day of salvation. So that when we stand in front of the judgment seat of Christ, God won't see our sin. He will see his son and his righteousness inside of us and his judgment will pass over us. Thank you God.”
41s
“Have you not spent enough time thinking about the gifts because you grew up in a tradition that didn't focus on it at all? And it's just kinda weird so you just kinda put that on the shelf. No. That's not the approach. Your approach is God, you have given your church gifts, and I am now a part of your church. I'm a son or a daughter of the most high God because I surrender my life to Jesus. The Holy Spirit now dwells in me, and God, I want everything you have to give me. And if that's something that I'm not even expecting, I'm here and I'm ready to receive it. That should be your posture. As who determines? As he determines.”
53s
“Then number five, to give us gifts. Yes. The Holy Spirit's role is to give us gifts that build up the church. And so let me ask you a question. This is really what I want you to think about today. Have you had an unbalanced approach? Have you put too much emphasis in one camp versus the other? Have you spent too much time thinking about the spiritual gifts versus God just guiding you through the Holy Spirit? Is it possible that you're here today and you've put off the most important decision that you'll ever make in your life, surrendering your life to Jesus and receiving the spirit of God in you so that you can be sealed for the day of salvation? Now you know why you need that to happen. So that God's judgment will pass over you one day.”
