#RefinedToChrist
“In order to test pure gold, the heat has to be nearly 2,000 degrees. That's hot. What will the fire reveal in your life when the fire's turned up? Will it reveal fear, pride, compromise, anger, bitterness, insecurity? God wants that fire to to burn away and and remove all of that impurity in your life. A goldsmith knows that the refining process is complete when he's able to see his reflection in the metal. In the same way, God knows that that refining process in your life is working and is complete when he begins to see the face of Christ, the face of Jesus and through your life. That's the goal of the fire. That's what God is doing in us. He's using the pressure and the heat to take away anything that doesn't look like Jesus in your life.”

#RestoredAndSteadfast
“Now the same Peter who wrote these words failed under pressure. In Matthew 26, and you can read about this, verses 69 through 75. When Jesus was arrested, Peter stood around another fire. And when he was asked three times whether he knew Jesus, he denied that he knew Jesus three times. But Jesus restored Peter. The man who once denied Jesus around a fire is the same man who told suffering Christians to hold fast through the fire of pressure. You know, we've all failed. But just like Jesus restored Peter, he wants to bring you back in. So hold fast when the pressure comes.”

#KeepDoingGood
“And and Peter tells us, don't give up. Don't stop doing good. So many people quit when it gets hard because sometimes it gets harder than you think it's going to be, but God is still working in ways you can't see. So do the right thing. Make the phone call. Forgive. Show up. Keep your word. Serve. Tell the truth. Pray. Stay connected. Keep showing up. Don't compromise. Keep worshiping. God isn't done yet.”

#RefinedByFire
“And there are some blessings that you will only experience on the other side of suffering and persecution. Think about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel chapter three. They were tied up and they were thrown in the fiery furnace. Remember, Jesus didn't keep them out of the fire, but he was with them in the fire, and he brought them through the fire. And when they came out on the other side, the only thing that was burned up were the ropes that had been binding them. And sometimes God uses that fire burn away what has been binding you in your life. And here's the thing about suffering is it's temporary. It has an expiration date. The rejection is temporary, but the reward is eternal. And when the fire gets hotter, Jesus draws closer.”
