God is the source, wisdom is the strategy, and diligence is the path when God opens the door for financial, business, and job breakthrough. Deuteronomy 8:18 calls God’s people to remember that it is the Lord who gives power to get wealth, not so that anybody can boast, but so that His covenant may be established. God gives wisdom, favor, opportunities, skills, strength, relationships, and ideas, and all of them come from His hand.
Money is not everything, but money affects many things. Financial provision helps families find shelter, enables the gospel to advance, and creates room for God’s purposes to be accomplished. The love of money, however, becomes evil when love that belongs to God is redirected toward money. God owns the silver and gold, and He wants faithful stewards who can handle what He puts in their hands.
Breakthrough is movement from restriction into greater opportunity, productivity, stability, influence, or provision according to God’s will. Financial breakthrough does not always mean becoming rich overnight. A new job, promotion, business idea, new customers, freedom from destructive debt, or wisdom to manage what is already present can all be breakthrough. God may answer a prayer for money by giving an idea, a skill, an interview, a relationship, or a solution to somebody’s problem.
The power to get wealth means that God gives capacity, not merely cash. A God-given skill continues producing when money can disappear. The talents in a person’s hand must not be buried, because God wants to develop what is already there. Moses’ rod looked ordinary until God entered the matter, and the same rod became an instrument of deliverance. The little in a person’s hand can become much when it is handed over to God.
Joseph shows that rejection, betrayal, slavery, false accusation, and prison cannot cancel God’s purpose. God gave Joseph wisdom to interpret Pharaoh’s dream, but Joseph went beyond interpretation and brought a strategy for the crisis. Problems create opportunities for people who can provide solutions. Joseph’s breakthrough came through wisdom, planning, administration, accountability, leadership, and readiness when the door opened.
Opportunity requires readiness. Joseph changed from prison clothes before entering the palace, because appearance and preparation matter when a door suddenly opens. God’s people must not look down on their skills, miss relationships, bury ideas, or join those singing negative songs. Financial capacity grows when a person starts where they are, uses what they have, solves problems, creates value, and commits it all to the Lord.

Key Takeaways
- 1. God gives power to produce wealth Deuteronomy 8:18 does not merely promise wealth; it points to the power to get wealth. God can place wisdom, creativity, strength, favor, and discernment within a person long before visible increase comes. Prosperity must therefore remain connected to covenant purpose rather than personal pride. [40:52]
- 2. Breakthrough begins with God, not money Financial pressure can make money look like the main answer, but God remains the true source of every open door. A breakthrough may arrive as an interview, an idea, a skill, a relationship, or the wisdom to manage present resources. Faith must look beyond cash and recognize the form in which God brings provision. [50:24]
- 3. Do not bury what is in hand Moses’ rod seemed ordinary until God showed him what it could become. Skills, knowledge, contacts, and small opportunities can carry far more potential than they appear to carry. Surrender turns an ordinary thing into an instrument God can use for enlargement. [65:43]
- 4. Solutions create doors of opportunity Joseph did not only interpret Pharaoh’s dream; he gave a workable strategy for the national crisis. Problems become doors for people who can see needs, develop skill, and bring solutions. Value creates influence when wisdom moves beyond observation into action. [72:50]
- 5. Readiness matters when doors open Joseph prepared himself before appearing before Pharaoh, and that preparation matched the opportunity before him. God may open a door suddenly, but lack of readiness can cause a person to miss what prayer requested. Faith prepares, presents itself well, and keeps its instruments close.
