[02:34]Matthew 8:2-3 “And behold, a leper came to him and knelt before him, saying, 'Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.' And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, 'I will; be clean.' And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.”
[06:12]Colossians 3:15 “And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.”
[07:54]John 5:5-9 “One man was there who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, 'Do you want to be healed?' The sick man answered him, 'Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another steps down before me.' Jesus said to him, 'Get up, take up your bed, and walk.' And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked.”
[19:48]John 9:6-7 “Having said these things, he spit on the ground and made mud with the saliva. Then he anointed the man's eyes with the mud and said to him, 'Go, wash in the pool of Siloam' (which means Sent). So he went and washed and came back seeing.”
[21:55]Luke 17:12-14 “And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted up their voices, saying, 'Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.' When he saw them he said to them, 'Go and show yourselves to the priests.' And as they went they were cleansed.”
[22:44]Exodus 2:11-12 “One day, when Moses had grown up, he went out to his people and looked on their burdens, and he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his people. He looked this way and that, and seeing no one, he struck down the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.”
[31:16]Genesis 15:2-4 “But Abram said, 'O Lord GOD, what will you give me, for I continue childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?' And Abram said, 'Behold, you have given me no offspring, and a member of my household will be my heir.' And behold, the word of the LORD came to him: 'This man shall not be your heir; your very own son shall be your heir.'”
[46:01]Observation questions- In Matthew 6:10, what two places are connected in Jesus’ prayer, and what is meant to happen on earth? [02:34]
- In the healing stories from John 5, John 9, and Luke 17, what different instructions did Jesus give, and when did healing show up in each case? [23:12]
- According to Colossians 3:15, what is peace supposed to do in the heart, and what picture helps explain that? [07:54]
- In Exodus 2 and Genesis 15, what did Moses and Abraham each seem to know about God’s will, and what actions did they take before the promise was fulfilled rightly? [31:49]
Interpretation questions- Jesus said, “I will; be clean,” to the leper. If Christ’s willingness was clear in that moment, why do so many believers still struggle more with the way and timing than with the promise itself? [06:12]
- The peace of Christ is meant to rule like an umpire. How can that help a believer tell the difference between a good idea and God’s direction in an everyday decision? [13:06]
- Jesus gave one man one step, another man many steps, and the ten lepers a long road to walk. What does that show about comparing one believer’s guidance with another’s? [23:23]
- Moses tried to bring deliverance too early, and Abraham tried to help the promise along through human effort. What do these stories reveal about the danger of forcing a right desire in the wrong way? [47:07]
Application questions- “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” is not only a prayer for the future but an invitation for heaven to come through ordinary life now. Where does that need to become more real for you right now: home, work, health, relationships, or finances? [03:01]
- God often leads through the small stuff rather than the spectacular. Which of the “ABCs” needs the most attention right now: not worrying, praising God, staying faithful in church, giving, forgiving, or listening on the inside? [09:04]
- The still small voice is easy to overlook because it can feel ordinary. Can you think of a recent moment when you had an inward check, a quiet peace, or a gentle nudge and did not fully respond to it? What happened? [16:52]
- Different needs can require different steps. Is there an area where you have been frustrated because your path does not look as simple or as quick as someone else’s? What would it look like to stop comparing and just take the next step God gives you? [24:09]
- Shortcuts are not obedience. Where are you most tempted to “help God out” right now by forcing timing, pushing a door open, or leaning on your own understanding? [35:02]
- Giving can train the heart to hear God. What has giving revealed in you lately about trust, fear, comfort, or control? Is there a small act of generosity you sense you should be open to? [37:35]
- Love does not control, and God often comes by invitation. Is there a part of life you have not really invited God into yet? What would it sound like to honestly say, “Lord, show me the way” in that area this week? [48:12]
