#WarWonInChrist
“No. What I am saying is, You're fighting a battle, but the war has been won. Okay? You're fighting a skirmish, but the larger war has already been won in Christ. And so when you know that, it makes fighting the battle that much easier. When you remember, like, okay, Christ has defeated this enemy here. Why am I allowing him to have so much influence in my life? And Christ has already defeated him. Why am I giving in to his lies and his deceptions? Because Christ has won this. And so so while the enemy may seem to be really doggedly persistent, it's out of desperation because the battle the the war is lost. But in Christ, if we align ourselves with Christ, it's won. It's won in Christ. So that actually fuels and helps us resist temptation that much greater. The enemy never quits, but that's because he's desperate and we know that the war is won in Christ. Okay. Number three. Order number four,”

#DontBiteTheBait
“That's what the enemy does. The enemy constantly promises you things that are just not true. A blessing that is just not reality. A a sense of accomplishment or a position that just will not turn out. You see, you know, a fish never sees the hook. Right? The fish never sees the hook. It only sees the bait. If it saw the hook, it would never bite. That's how deception works. Sin never advertises the hook. It only advertises the pleasure.”

#WeedsAndGrace
“You know, every gardener knows that weeds never take a vacation. Right? You pull them out one weekend and the next weekend they're back. No one wakes up shocked that the weeds have returned. You expect it. Why? Because that's what weeds do. You can be disappointed with it. You can, you know, mutter your disapproval of Adam and Eve sinning so that now we have to deal with this stuff. You can long for the return of Christ so you don't have to but you just expect that weeds are gonna come back. Right? Because that's what they do. That's how we should view the enemy. We shouldn't be surprised when he keeps hitting us, when he keeps trying to tempt us, when our sin in our flesh is tempted, because of of of of temptations or or or push towards temptation. So don't be surprised when temptation returns. Don't conclude that you failed because the battle is continuing. The enemy never quits. But here's the good news, neither does God's grace.”

#JesusHasAllAuthority
“So when we're tempted to think that the enemy is omnipotent or at least equal in power as God, that is simply not true because there is a sense that sometimes casually we will think, you know, well, we got we got Jesus and Satan and they're just kind of battling it out, battling out. We're we're we're team Jesus. Yeah. We want Jesus to win. That's not the case at all. You know, we have we have like Satan and we have Jesus way up there that we can't even see. I mean, that's the difference here. Jesus is God. K? And so Satan cannot do anything other than what he's allowed to do. That's encouraging. Jesus, on the other hand, is given all authority, Matthew 28. Right? He has all authority from eternity past. He's the one to align to, not the enemy.”

#TruthOverDeception
“The enemy hates but Jesus loves. The enemy deceives, Jesus is the truth. The enemy seeks to destroy, Jesus came that we might have life. The enemy's authority is limited, Jesus declared authority in heaven and earth has been given to me. The enemy may seem to win for a season but Jesus has already won the decisive victory through his death and resurrection.”

#TemporalIsNotUltimate
“You know, we live in a culture of a world of just highlight reels. We see promotions that people talk about, bigger houses, vacation photos, the influence of followers. But here's what we don't see. We don't see emptiness. We don't see anxiety or broken relationships or coming judgment. You see, what we often do is we confuse temporary success with ultimate blessing. And so when we look at the world or we look at other people and think, man, they are not they they they're just wicked as they as long. They don't care about God at all. They're terrible and yet they seem to be prospering. Just understand, temporal blessing does not equal ultimate or temporal success doesn't mean equal ultimate blessing.”

#CrossSilencesAccusation
“And so that brings us to the table this morning. The table reminds us that our greatest enemy is not ultimately Haman or or even Satan. Our greatest enemy was our own sin, which separated us from a holy God. Satan delights in accusing God's people, but at the cross, Jesus bore that full penalty for our sin. It silenced every accusation against those who belong to him. And so the bread that we're gonna eat here in a second reminds us that Christ gave his body for us.”

#ComeWithGratitude
“So today, don't come to this table because we're stronger. We've defeated an enemy. We come with our chest puffed out. We become come to the table because Christ has defeated the enemy. So if you're a believer in Christ, we come with gratitude. I encourage you to come with confidence. Come remembering that our victorious king gave himself so that one day every enemy including sin, death, and Satan himself will finally and forever be defeated when Christ returns.”
