### Quotes for Outreach

1. "God accomplishes extraordinary things through ordinary people whose hearts are yielded to him. And I know we were just talking about a significant town or small city or town or place. But in this place we're going to again be introduced to a man who has a heart of After God, God's own heart. And God will use that man, and you know what? He'll use you and myself as well. He'll use us as insignificant people, ordinary people to do extraordinary things." [13:39] (32 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

2. "Do you want to live a life of purpose and meaning? By the silence, I'm going to say, yep, no, you don't. Okay. Like, do you want to live a life? It sounds so high in the sky. I know, I know. It sounds just like so, but do you want to live a life that changes the world? Like, I still believe that that can happen. I still believe the gospel message of Jesus Christ is the most important message to be communicated in the entire world." [36:26] (29 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

3. "I still believe the gospel message of Jesus Christ is the most important message to be communicated in the entire world. Elon Musk said the other day on Twitter, or X, or whatever he named it, he said something to this effect. He said, basically he said, if Christians don't start standing up and being more vocal, Christianity's going to die. Basically, that's what he said. And at first, I'm like, he's got a point. But then I was like, for 2,000 years, man, we have been facing all kinds of struggles. And do you know what Jesus said? He said, I'm going to build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it." [36:26] (39 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

4. "The same Spirit that rose Jesus from the dead lives in you. I watch these Olympics and these athletes, and I'm like, those guys are amazing. I can't do that. Yes, I can. No, I'm just teasing. I can't. But you look at that, and you look at the life of a man like David and others in the Bible, just be encouraged that the same Spirit of God that came upon him is the same Spirit of God that lives within you." 5. "I'll never be perfect, but I sure do need a perfect Savior, and His name is Jesus. And when I surrender my life to Jesus and seek to be a man, you seek to be a woman. We seek to be men. Men and women after God's own heart, that Spirit of God moves inside of us in a way that is unreal. That's what I want to be. I pray that's what you want to be." ### Quotes for Members

1. "A man or woman after God's own heart has a love for the things of God. It sounds very simple doesn't it? That person has a love for the things of God. You notice as as as this story unfolds here, um Samuel does what's directed um he gets there in verse five they're like do you come in peace verse four and five do you come in peace well if you go back one chapter you'll see that that Samuel Samuel treated um king uh king agag like he was he it was pretty dramatic chopped him up and and and made a point you know um so it is likely it is likely that as Samuel gets here um the people are like hey we know you you were pretty upset the other day we don't know what how long that time period is but uh are you okay do you come in peace and and he says of course he says he doesn't know" [17:26] (52 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

2. "A man or woman after God's own heart demonstrates humility, humility towards God and to others. And you'd be like, well, where, where do we find that in the text? Well, I think you could look at verse 11. If you looked at verse 11, you would see that, that, that Samuel asked him and he says, are these all the ones you have and all the sons? And then the answer back is, there is still the youngest, he answered. But right now he's, he's tending sheep. They're still the youngest one. The word youngest, I mean, you take, take it for the main and plain thing right here on the text. Like he's obviously the youngest of the brothers, but also the Hebrew word for youngest can also mean insignificant, but he is, he is the youngest physically, you know, his age is the youngest, but it does seem like he's also fairly insignificant." 3. "A man or woman, after God's own heart, is led by the Spirit of God. Think about that for a moment. Because you see here, towards the end of this section, that the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully on David from that day forward. He becomes this man who is guided by the Spirit of God. That the Holy Spirit of God comes upon him, anoints him for the task, and guides his steps. And we see it throughout his life." [32:09] (33 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

4. "A man or woman, after God's own heart, walks in repentance before God. Walks in repentance. And why would we bring that up? And you're not necessarily going to find it in the text right here in chapter 16. But you do find it in David's life. You find it in his life. Because as I mentioned earlier, you find it in David's life. We'll say David and Goliath, but then we also say David and Bathsheba. And David sinned against God and sinned against her and sinned against her husband. David sinned greatly. A man or a woman, after God's own heart, is not a perfect person. Not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. That's not what this means. That's not what it means. It's a man, it's a woman who walks in repentance." 5. "When I kept silent, my bones became brittle. From my groaning all day long. When I kept silent. Some of the most miserable people in the world are Christians who are living in sin. Who are keeping silent about their sin. Keeping silent about their rebellion against God. Some of the most miserable people. I've been there. So have you. You might be there now. And God's saying, hey, that's not my heart. Turn from that. Turn from that. Focus on me. Focus on me. Focus on my heart." [41:11] (38 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)
