#SurrenderToHisLordship
“Because there's a lot of people that know him as savior, but they've yet to follow him as lord. And when he is lord, he makes the calls, not you. He moves you forward in life, not you. And the hardest thing for us to yield is control of our baby little ship out here. I'm the captain of my boat, and I'll go wherever I wanna go, and I'm gonna ask God to bless my journey. It does not work like that. When he saved you from sin, when he lifted you up out of the pit of your messed up life, he deserves full ownership. I don't have the right to determine my future. Why? Because I have a captain, I have a king who's leading me forward, and my life is fully surrendered, and it belongs to him.”

#RepentanceBringsNearness
“It's to come to the Lord and have a change in mind that's followed by a change of direction. And when I repent of sin, have you noticed this in your life? That when you're broken before the Lord and you come to him and say, Father, forgive me, and you truly repent, you just lay your whole life at the altar and say, Jesus, cleanse me by your blood. You start naming off the ways that you've broken his heart. Have you realized in that moment he comes close to you? You feel the nearness of God. You you feel the voice of God because the payoff of true repentance is the nearness of the Holy Spirit, and he speaks to our hearts again. So we gotta deal with willful sin. The second culprit is this, an abundance of noise.”

#ListenToConviction
“But God's word is pretty clear. And so the Holy Spirit will come to convict us and and to go away from that particular sin. Whatever the sin is in my life that I'm guarding and justifying, the Holy Spirit is faithful to come and say, son, I wanna speak to you. I wanna walk closer to you, I'm gonna need you to do what? To repent and turn to me because if I harbor any area of willful sin, there is a long range effect that will play out. And whether or not this is an issue of salvation is not up to me, that's above my pay grade. But here's what I know, the short range payoff and downside is spiritual deafness. You will not be able to hear the voice of God. So, the cure for this is quite simple, but it's not always easy, and it's true repentance.”

#HumbleHeartHears
“I'm speaking and it doesn't mean sinless perfection or you've reached some level of, wow, I got this thing figured out. It's really just a humble heart. It says, God, I'll be quick to repent, and I wanna hear your voice. I'm gonna walk close to you. And your shepherd says, yes, you can walk with me, and I will speak to you, and my sheep will hear my voice, and I will lead you into all truth. We have all these promises, so God is wanting to lead us, and he wants to reveal himself to you today.”

#SecretPlaceWaiting
“spend some time in the secret place. And, you know, I think too often as believers, we come into our our private time, our devotional time. We have a list of requests and God knows that. But but be careful that you just don't go to the Lord and say, God, I need, I need, I need, and you're wonderful, and I give you praise, and it's all one-sided communication. Then we bolt out jump in the car and head off to traffic in the commute. No, wait on him. Listen for his voice, and God will speak in the waiting.”

#GodOpensAndCloses
“Because listen, if you are living your best to be obedient to the word of God, living a lifestyle of worship planted in his house under spiritual authority, in other words, have a pastor in your life, you can live with confidence that God is gonna open every door you need to walk through, and he's gonna shut every door that you need to avoid. This is the confidence we have in our guide, in the leading of the Holy Spirit.”

#LayYourPlansOnTheAltar
“And God will do that to you, not because he wants to punish you, but because he loves you. He has a great plan for your future. So, before we pray, I want you to take whatever that is in your life right now. Whatever decision, whatever the next step, whatever you're praying about, you're wrestling with, and ask this question. Have I laid my agenda on the altar? Have I submitted my plans to the will of my father?”
26s
#ApplyGodsWord
“I wanna take a few minutes to talk to you about one of the primary ways that God speaks to you and it's the open door, shut door principle in the word of God. But before we go there, most obvious way that God speaks to us is the applied word of God. You know, that God has given us plenty of instruction and as it's been said, if we would just do what's written down, we wouldn't have to worry so much about the mysteries we're not sure of.”

#SubmitYourPlans
“Three top culprits that cause spiritual deafness and I've been ranting about it is unsubmitted plans and agendas. Paul could have justified his move to those regions where the Holy Spirit said don't go, just as we do. What I'm pleading with you today is to come to this place where you no longer try to barter with God to get your your will, your plan, but find this altar.”

#AltarOfSacrifice
“the covenant promises if you study the life of Abraham, the covenant promises of God, the I will bless you to be a blessing. Those are made and confirmed all around an altar. Genesis chapter 12, Genesis chapter 22, something about an altar. What is an altar? It's a place where some things go to die,”

#WaitForGodsPeace
“It's basic, but it's very effective. If we can come to a place in our lives where we say, God, I refuse to move forward without you. God, I'm not gonna move forward without your peace in this situation. Because many of you are faced with some big decisions. Do I get engaged to her or him? Do I take the job? Do I move to Idaho with the rest of them? Love you pastor Peter. I have a pastor here from Idaho. No shade on you, man. You're right where God wants you. But have you waited on the cloud? Oh, you wait. We'll talk later. No. If if we would simply take those big decisions of life and make this determination, God, I'm not moving forward without the fire and the cloud, without the breath of the Holy Spirit bringing clarity that I'm in the center of your will.”

#YouHaveAGuide
“The Lord was saying, you're gonna have a personal guide and he's going to direct you and comfort you and speak to you. You're not in this thing alone just trying to figure out how to make it to heaven all by yourself. Now, here's the problem with humanity. We usually don't wanna guide when we're getting lost in the woods, but we're sure looking for one when we're trying to find our way back out. Is anybody with me today? And he is that guy that walks with us.”

#QuietYourSoulListen
“Now, let me ask you something. When was the last time you quieted your soul? You went into the secret place with no agenda, shut the door. And maybe it was this morning or yesterday, I hope so. But you just said, you know what? I'm gonna get a journal and a bible and kacom. I'm gonna shut the door, quiet all the other voices and wait and listen for my father to speak to me because he is in the secret place waiting for his children.”
37s
#AcknowledgeAndSubmit
“One one word translation is acknowledge him. In other words, God, what do you here's my plans. I'm acknowledging you and I'm asking you to speak into them. I'm submitting my agenda to your agenda. In all your ways, submit to him and he will show you which path to take. Guys, lean in for our final minutes here. The Holy Spirit is a guide. He's gonna lead you out of the woods. He's gonna lead you off the cliff on the mountain. He's gonna lead you into the future, but not if we can't hear his voice. He leads by his voice and he leads by circumstances.”
30s
#WaitWithExpectation
“It's not just a dull marking of time. Oh, I told the Lord I'd put in twenty minutes and I'm nineteen minutes in. It's this expectation that my father's gonna speak to me. The Holy Spirit's gonna show up in the secret place. And in the process, we are bound together with the object of our waiting. It's the picture of a three, corded strand of rope that's being twisted together. And we hear his voice and he hears our heart and we become one with the object of our waiting.”
