#PrayMoreThanPreach
“Keep praying you all. Pray. Pray more than you preach. They don't wanna hear what was said in church. Pray. Okay? Pray for wisdom. Pray for protection, for conviction, for healthy relationships. Let's pray that the Lord fixes it for you because you don't know how to fix it yourself. Amen. And parents, take care of yourselves. You can become exhausted trying to save a child. You can become brokenhearted. Seek support from your pastor, from a counselor, from trusted support groups. You may need to get professional help from the child and for you as well.”

#LoveWithoutApproval
“So you love them without approving everything that they're doing. There's an important difference between I love you and I agree with everything that you're doing. Okay. You see the difference there? Okay. You could say, tell me what made you come to that decision. Pay attention to their nonverbals, their tone, their body language, their emotion behind the words. Put away your phone, maintain eye contact, give them your full attention. You can say something like, I don't agree with your choice, and I won't pretend that they are healthy. But nothing will change the fact that you are my child, and I love you. Amen. You see the difference there? Mhmm. An important principle is you're having grace, but grace is not the same as enabling.”

#ListenBeforeLecturing
“Love covers a multitude of sins. So even when they make mistakes, our love can cover that. We have to ask God for wisdom in dealing with our children. You as parents have to listen before you lecture. to understand what's going on from their perspective, and they're younger than you. So their perspective might be an immature perspective or it might be a perspective that teaches you a couple of things. Okay? healthy boundaries. Love does not mean covering up harmful behavior or tolerating abuse or disrespect. It doesn't mean you're gonna rescue them from consequences. Consequences has its place. If they've done something that is wrong, they have to suffer the consequences. But you could temper that with grace. Alright?”
