“If you've given your life to Christ, if you've admitted, man, I need a savior, if you believe that Jesus died and rose for your sins, if you confess Jesus Christ as Lord, then you're in the new covenant. You're not gonna stand before the Lord on judgment day in your sins because you are clothed in the righteousness of Christ. You are co heirs with Christ. You are a child of God. told Lauren we come back to this in the solid rock. The last verse says, when he shall come with trumpet sound, oh, may I then in him be found. There it is. Dressed in his righteousness alone.”

“So it's not that I don't take sin seriously anymore because the slate is gone, but I walk in freedom because my sin is nailed to the cross. The new covenant moves us from striving to grace, from guilt to transformation, and finally from fear to hope. So also Christ will appear a second time and bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. Now the previous verse, as we said, said it's it's appointed to man once to die and then the judgment. Right? And that's a scary idea, and it should strike fear unless unless unless you have surrendered to Christ.”

“God doesn't put up the sign that says, stop, you're doing wrong. He doesn't put that up so that you stop there and go, okay, I'm gonna sit here and feel really bad. No. It's because you're going the wrong way. He doesn't want you sitting there feeling bad. He wants you turning around, and going the other direction, and doing what he's called you to do. And when we do that, we move from shame into freedom, into gratitude. Shame says, I've been bad, I'm unworthy, I'm dirty, I am nothing. Transformation says, that behavior is unacceptable. It's beneath me. It's not consistent with who I am. It's not what I'm called to.”

“But that's old covenant. The old covenant regulated our behavior, but the new covenant changes our hearts. It transforms us at the spirit level. It it transforms our minds. Our conscience is cleansed. The law is written within. he doesn't he's not looking for compliance. The correct response to conviction isn't shame. It's repentance. Let me say that again. I I I wrote it down. I don't often think of writing things down going, oh, that was brilliant. I think that's pretty good. The correct response to conviction isn't shame, it's repentance.”
