Our confidence in the Great Commission does not rest on our own strength or ability, but on the character and power of God Himself. He is the one who initiates the sending, and He is the one who will bring it to completion. This mission is His from start to finish. Our role is to join Him in what He is already doing, trusting that the work is His responsibility. We can step out in faith, knowing the outcome is secured by His sovereign will. [37:12]
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20 ESV)
Reflection: Where in your life are you currently relying on your own strength to accomplish something for God, rather than resting in His power and authority? What would it look like to actively trust Him with the outcome this week?
The moment we place our faith in Christ, the Holy Spirit takes up residence within us. This is not a passive presence but the very Spirit of mission. His indwelling signifies that we are sent people, commissioned and empowered for God's purposes in the world. Our identity is fundamentally changed; we are now ambassadors, representatives of Christ wherever we go. This sending is not optional but central to our new life in Him. [42:27]
“As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.” (John 17:18 ESV)
Reflection: How does recognizing that the Holy Spirit inside you is a 'sending Spirit' reshape your understanding of your daily routine and interactions? What is one specific context—your workplace, neighborhood, or family—where you can more intentionally live out this sent identity?
Our prayers often focus on our personal needs and wants. Yet, God invites us into a deeper communion where we begin to seek what He seeks and desire what He desires. His greatest longing is for people from every nation, tribe, and language to know Him and worship Him. When we catch this vision, our priorities and prayers are transformed to align with His heart for the world. [45:39]
After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands. (Revelation 7:9 ESV)
Reflection: As you review your recent prayers, what proportion has been focused on your needs versus God's global purposes? What is one practical way you can adjust your prayer life this week to more actively participate in what God is渴望 to accomplish in the world?
Our perspective is often limited by our cultural biases, preoccupations, and personal desires. We can become so focused on our immediate concerns that we fail to see the spiritual opportunities and needs around us. God calls us to see people as He sees them: not as projects or obstacles, but as individuals He deeply loves for whom Christ died. This transformed vision allows us to recognize divine appointments in our ordinary days. [01:03:52]
Lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. (John 4:35 ESV)
Reflection: What preoccupation or "preconceived notion" most often blinds you from seeing the people in your life as God sees them? Who is one person God might be inviting you to see with His eyes of love and compassion today?
The core command of the Great Commission is to make disciples. This involves more than just sharing information; it is about life-on-life investment that leads to obedience. It is a call to be a living example of what it means to follow Christ, inviting others to learn and grow alongside us. Every activity of the church should be evaluated by whether it ultimately contributes to this central task of forming faithful followers of Jesus. [01:14:14]
Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us. (Philippians 3:17 ESV)
Reflection: If making disciples is the primary mission, how does your current involvement in your faith community reflect this priority? Who is one person in your sphere of influence that you could begin to intentionally encourage and model a life of obedience to Christ for?
