#MatureChristianity
“``Whenever you hear a Christian say, I don't care what other people think. I'm gonna do what I wanna do. You know what? You're listening to an immature Christian. That's an immature Christian that talks like that. That's not a mature Christian. It's not a Christian who wants to honor Christ. Rather, here's spiritual maturity speaks like this. I don't think I'll do that. Even though I would enjoy it and I'm free to do it, I don't think I'm gonna do it because it might offend a weaker brother and cause him to stumble.”

#SacrificialFellowship
“So true fellowship then, and brothers and sisters, this is for us as well. It's fostered by that self sacrificing kind of love that has others in need. So that when I gather with you, I'm thinking about you and what's best for you, not my freedoms, my rights. I'm thinking about you. We're thinking about each other. And so I sacrifice for the sake of the unity. In fact, this is the challenge of Philippians two three and four. I regard you as more important than myself. What? I regard you as more important than myself. I regard you as more important than myself. I regard you as more important than myself. That means I don't come for me. I come for the glory of God, and I come to regard you as more important than myself. I look out for your interests. I think about you. What I do, I do for you with you in mind. And some things I could do, and you could say the same thing in grace. Some things you could do in grace, they wouldn't defile our consciences, but they may offend someone else, causing that other Christian to stumble. And so you don't do them, and I don't do them.”

#GentilesAreGodsPeople
“The Judaizers have been completely unanimously rejected by the consistent testimony of the apostles. There's no lack of clarity now on this issue at all, and this is a great day for the life of the church. So the salvation issue has been fully and finally settled, the main issue for which the Jerusalem Council has been called. It has been resolved. Praise God. Now with regard to Gentiles, James has taught us it was part of God's eternal purpose that Gentiles become a new people of God, not simply that they're added on to the existing people known as Israel. They didn't have to become Jewish proselytes to be saved. This is no divine afterthought. The prophets had foretold this long ago that God would be taking from among the Gentiles a people for his name.”

#ChristBuildsTheChurch
“I'm confident of this fact. Jesus Christ will build his church. Amen? Are you convinced of that? He will build his church. It's his church. He'll protect it. He'll mature it. He'll raise it up in strength. He'll grow it by the Holy Spirit. He will defend his church against doctrinal attacks and persecution and all the schemes of Satan. Christ always wins. I want you to see that this morning in our passage. Secondly, I want you to see how God always brings good out of evil in every case. Heresy is used by God to clarify orthodoxy the truth. The truth will shine forth as a result God drives his people back to evaluate scripture and the truth of the gospel, and the church then grows in understanding and error is put down. God, the sovereign Lord brings good out of evil in your life, in my life, in the church always. I want you to see that and remember that and be encouraged today.”
