“The good works that Paul says were not the path to our salvation now must become the purpose of our salvation. It's not the ground, but the goal of being saved. What does all of this mean? Because this is not stuff that I think a lot of Christians live in the front of their mind moment to moment. They don't get up in the morning and say, what can I do, Lord, in service to you today? It's just the truth. I don't often do this. We should. We must. Lord, I'm awake. You've given me a new day. You've opened my eyes as a gift of your grace. Now what do you have for me today?”

“They praised the maker that much more and gave Laurie to the father who entrusted the project to his son. That was when I finally understood. The restoration had never been the end of the story. It simply made the rest of the story possible. I had not been restored simply to be admired. I'd been restored so that once again, I could do what I had been made to do, in the service of the maker for the benefit of all who listen.”

“One of the things I often think about is, am I believing enough? Sometimes it doesn't feel like I'm believing enough. Sometimes I don't know what I believe. I walk around in this world and I act a certain way or think a certain thing and I wonder if I really were a believer, would I act or think or say these things? But praise be to God that Jesus said it's not the intensity of our faith, it's the object of our faith. He said even a mustard seed of faith is sufficient for God to work and act and save. That is the power of the savior, of Christ, and not the power of my faith.”
