#GraceForTheUndeserving
“Just because someone has a life that is marked by pain or suffering or difficulty does not mean they did anything to deserve it. We just live in a broken world. So why does this guy get saved? Or why does this guy get healed? Grace. Least deserving guy. No soul is too far from the grace of Jesus Christ. Even 38 year old year old excuse making sinners like this man. No one's too far from the grace of Jesus Christ.”

#JesusClaimedDivinity
“And there are those that say Jesus never claimed to be God. I love the pharisees because they always help us out. They were able to tell us what Jesus is saying right here. He's making himself equal with God. They cleared up. People that tell me that, I'll turn them here and then I'll just say, if he didn't claim to be God, why did they kill him?”

#NoLukewarmFaith
“The other guy was an excuse making sinner who at least knew he was a cripple. At least he knew that much. And Jesus heals him by his grace and says, go and sin no more to him. There's no cruise control. That's what chapter five is telling us. They're both on a trajectory. The pharisees are gonna head down a meaner and badder and worse road. And this man has the opportunity to be set free from sin and grow in grace now. You're either hot or you're cold. There is no lukewarm.”

#RelationshipNotRituals
“What was supposed to be a relationship turned into rituals and traditions. I think we have to be very careful. When traditions start to work their way into our lives or into the church, you better have a chapter and verse, or we end up making empty the relationship God wants with us, where we go to him and check for details. And the reason why they got mad at Jesus, I think, at the very core, is because Jesus didn't act like they expected him to act.”

#ConnectedLifeDirectedLife
“He's a day old. Bro, garden. How would Adam know how to garden? He wouldn't. What was the expectation? In the cool of the evening, Adam would be like, hey, I'm not figuring this thing out. No problem. See me for details. There's supposed to be this relationship, this connection to the father that grew up Adam in all these ways. The Christian life is to be the connected life that leads to the directed life.”

#SufferingIsNotAlwaysSin
“But don't make the mistake that just because someone isn't invalid or blind or lame, they must have sinned. Can sin cause problems? Can sin cause difficulty? 100%. If you're a glutton, you're gonna have problems from that. If you sleep around, you can get STD from that. You can get diseases. But just because you didn't get the flu this year doesn't mean you're some kind of holy, perfect saint.”

#InnocentVictimsOfSin
“I went to an orphanage in Zambia. It was called For Hearts and For Souls, mainly little girls from about six weeks old to six years old. And all of them were there because they were born with AIDS. Did they do anything to deserve AIDS? Nope. Other people's sins. The grenade of sin being opened up on them and they're getting the shrapnel from it.”

#JesusToTheBroken
“Jesus goes to Jerusalem. And where does he first go? Where a bunch of invalids, blind, lame, and paralyzed people are all congregating together. He went to the place of weakness. He went to the place of need. That's where he goes. Jesus gravitates towards those that are broken and lame and blind. Now why are they all gathered there? They had this idea that if they were there at the right moment and an angel came down and the waters rippled a certain way, the first person into the water would get healed.”

#ShadowOfDeath
“And so Donald Barnhouse said, Jesus Christ was hit by the Mack truck so that you and I would only taste its shadow. That death, if you read first Corinthians 15, how does it end? Where's your sting? The mac truck has been taken out. Now we just passed the shadow of death. That's it. I think personally, and I have no reason to actually think this theologically, I just like it. Maybe acts seven a little bit, Stephen, when he's the first martyr, what does he see up in heaven?”

#UnexpectedWaysOfGod
“They had an idea in their head about how messiah was supposed to be, how Jesus was supposed to be, and they got mad because god was acting like god and doing what he wants, Psalm one fifteen. Ever happened to you? God does things in your life or acts in ways that just make you like, what? It's like Naaman when he came to Elisha. If you know that story, second Kings chapter five.”

#JesusIsGreater
“Moses provided a silhouette of a leader out of bondage, but Jesus is greater than that. He actually takes us into the promised land. The greater than David just go on and on and on. The suffering servant of Isaiah, the conquering king of the other prophets. Jesus, the the total fulfillment. Well, if he is, then why do these guys miss it? Verse 40 says, they have no desire. You don't want. You don't want. You refuse to come that you may have life, just no desire.”

#ScripturesPointToJesus
“You search the scriptures because you believe that somehow by reading this stuff, something's gonna happen to you, but all those scriptures, they point to me. The old testament paints a silhouette that only Jesus Christ fulfills. And people that struggle with this, especially the Torah, I give them this book. It's called Reading Moses Seeing Jesus. It's brilliant. Now this this whole thing, Genesis three fifteen, the seed of the woman.”

#HonorThroughFaith
“What's the fastest way to make a dad really proud? Honor his son or daughter. What's the fastest way to get the wrath of a dad? Dishonor son or dad. How do we honor our father? How do we honor Jesus? There's one way, and it's from Genesis two to Revelation 20. It's faith. In Eden, it was, Adam, do you trust me that that's a bad tree? No, you don't.”

#MirrorHeavenOnEarth
“So be it. And it says it was counted to him as righteousness. One of the most important verses in the whole bible. Genesis 15. Do you believe me? Hey, people. I wanna bring you to the promised land. Cross the Jordan. Take it. I've given it to you. But the people are really tall over there. Do you believe me? I've done the 10 plagues. I parted the Red Sea. Do you believe me? Faith.”

#SabbathLegalismExposed
“Jesus, in John chapter two, turns water into wine. What is he controlling right there? Nature. He has changed the very atoms and protons and neutrons and electrons into something else instantaneously. Jesus controls nature. Chapter four, a child with a plague that's going to die. Jesus controls plagues. And then this chapter right here, Jesus controls the consequences of sin.”

#JesusIsImageOfFather
“they get mad that this man is carrying his bed. They confront the man. The man said, someone told me to do this. Who told you to do that? Jesus told me to do this. Can you find a commandment in the bible that says, do not carry your bed on the Sabbath? Doesn't exist. You look up all the verses on the Sabbath, it's like four verses. That's it. Don't work. Don't create a great burden.”

#AbrahamBelieved
“Jesus says, I perfectly mirror the father. If you've seen me, you've seen the father. The book of Hebrews says, he is the express image, the icon of the father. He mirrors the father, number one. Number two. And one interesting thing on this. Jesus has this whole thing where he says, whatever he sees the father doing, I'm doing it. Greater works because I'm I'm seeing the father. Jesus was connected to God.”

#TraditionsOverCompassion
“Abraham, I know you're almost 100 and your wife is 90, and you've been trying to have kids for probably seventy, seventy five years, and you haven't had kids, but Abraham, look up in the sky right now. Look at all the stars. See if you can count them because your descendants will outnumber the visible stars. That's impossible. But what does Abraham do? Believe the Hebrew word there is literally amen to God. Amen.”

#EarlyChristianCare
“They prefer their traditions over the miraculous healing of a real person. And to this day, religious traditions do the same thing. Don't you dare break our tradition. And it guts the worship of God. Makes it vain and empty. And the Pharisees, they think they are fine and good and righteous people. They don't think they're crippled or broken or need God's grace. And what you're gonna see with them is they're upset at Jesus right now, then they're gonna get angry at Jesus, and then they're gonna murder Jesus. Bad trajectory.”

#KilledForClaimingGod
“No one that I have ever studied or read has the quality of life of Jesus. No one. No one has the answers to the actual questions that matter than Jesus. Even atheists. Right? Gandhi and Elon Musk was just tweet tweeting about how great a teacher Jesus is. Even people that don't believe him like, man, he's really got some great he really had it together. And I think if you could somehow do this thought experiment and you could pull Jesus out of history, what would the world be like?”
