Don't Look Back: Embrace Grace, Holiness, and Unity

The opening call gives God thanks for one more time in the house of the Lord, then turns the church toward the question of why the saints gather. The call refuses church as just Sunday tradition, trendy religion, or a place to have a good churchy time. The Lord is presented as doing a healing work in ministry, shining light in places where church culture has been out of place for many years.

Acts 15 shows the apostles and elders coming together to consider a hard matter. The first mark of the work is honor for the presbytery, because one man is not called to sit above the congregation and act like lord over God’s heritage. The biblical pattern is elders leading together, men who know the Word, live holy, love their wives, and live above reproach. The claim is plain: what the Bible says an elder should be, that is what he should be.

Hebrews 12 calls for hands to be lifted, feeble knees strengthened, straight paths made, peace followed, and holiness pursued. Holiness takes courage in a society with no standards and no morals. The text still says holiness is right, and without holiness no man shall see the Lord. The call to tell the truth in 2026 is not soft or cute, because truth has to say no to abuse, waste, confusion, and sin.

Matthew 25 shows Christ receiving service done to the least of His brethren as service done to Him. Church Unlimited names its calling as Christian Humanitarians United Restoring Community Hope. The work is not only inside the building, but in bills paid, lights helped, rent helped, clothes given, food shared, and people loved down here. The hope is that the normal church statistic gets turned around, so the house is cared for while much more goes out to help somebody in need.

Ephesians 4 calls the church toward the unity of the faith, no longer tossed around by every wind of doctrine. The unity of the faith does not mean acting like only one little group loves the Lord. The truth is that God has people here, over there, and around the corner, and every saint may carry another piece of the puzzle. Christ remains the head, and the body grows up by speaking the truth in love.

Genesis 19 then sounds the warning that God’s grace gives time, but not unlimited time. God warned Lot, sent angels, and made a way of escape before judgment fell. Lot lingered with a compromised heart, and his wife looked back because old attachments still had hold of her. The warning says, “let it all go,” because it is never too late until it is too late.
