“``that's still not the worst. Those things are all about the daily operation of life, but we disgrace ourselves about our sins. Do you ever hear anybody say this? If you've ever said this, you'll never say it again. You ever hear this? I know that God has forgiven me, but I can't forgive myself. You ever hear that? I know God has forgiven me, but I can't forgive myself. Here's the high toned theological answer to that. It's a little bit sophisticated, but here it is. You know what it is? Who do you think you are? That's the answer to that.”

“``You see, all the spiritual, emotional, psychological energy we spend trying to convince each other we're perfect and nobody believes it anyway. No. The fact of the matter is we're all in this together. There's nobody in here that's never sinned. There's nobody in here that may never ever again think an angry or sinful thought. We're all in this together, and what covers us all is the same thing, and it's the wonderful matchless sweet holy grace of our lord Jesus Christ.”

“``Having received grace for salvation, I now turn to face the rest of my life that stretches out between here in heaven, and I take responsibility for everything in my life. I say, I have to deal with all my weaknesses. I have to deal with overcoming sin. I have to deal with the problems. I have to deal with the challenges. I take responsibility for everything from salvation by grace to entry into heaven. And the problem with that is that you don't just need grace to get saved. You need grace to get up in the morning. You need grace. God knows you need grace to go to Walmart.”

“``There is hardly any word which has suffered so in the Christian vocabulary in the contemporary era era as the word grace. Grace has come to mean almost anything, and therefore, it's come to mean almost nothing. We use grace like agape mayonnaise. If you slap enough of it on anything, it can make rancid ham taste good. But grace in this in scripture has a specific and powerful meaning.”
