#JesusSavesSinners
“``Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. He did not come into the world to rescue righteous and beyond everybody else in their level of perfection. Because they were being so terribly mistreated from all the underlings. No. No. It's not why he came. He came to save sinners like you and me. He didn't come to rescue the deserving ones. He came to rescue sinners, to rescue sinners from the power of sin, from the punishment of sin. He came listen, he came to rescue those who were guilty of the very things that verses nine and ten talk about in our text.”

#MercyForAll
“And then notice mercy is illustrative. It's illustrative. In me first, Jesus Christ might show all long suffering as a pattern, as a pattern. And here's what Paul's getting at. If if God can save the likes of me, he can save anybody. He can save anyone. I'm the chief of sinners. If he can save me, he can save anyone. And then God's mercy is extensive. It's extensive. He says, it's a pattern to those who are going to believe on him for everlasting life. In other words, look, God's mercy doesn't end with you. Didn't end with Paul. Your testimony of God's mercy and grace in your life can influence others by God's grace.”

#GraceTransformsLives
“Well, that super abundant grace overcomes unbelief with belief, and it overcomes insolence and blasphemy and persecution. The the persecutor, the blasphemy, the insolent man, it overcomes all of that with love. So he says, the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant with faith and love, which are in Christ Jesus. With love. The point is this, because of God's grace, the sinful persecutor radically, totally transformed into the faithful, earnest, loving apostle Paul. And it is that same grace that transformed your life if you have come to faith in Jesus Christ as your personal savior? Have you lost the wonder of his grace? Worship him for his grace. Give thanks for what you don't deserve.”

#LawRevealsSin
“This kind of brings us back to the good lawful use of the law, doesn't it? The good lawful use of the law is not as Saul the persecutor supposed. Its use is not to to try to obey it sufficiently so that we might therefore some way merit God's favor. No. That's not it at all. The lawful use of the law is to reveal the sinfulness of sin and to lead the sinner who is guilty of the sinfulness of sin to Christ who alone saves from that sin's penalty and its power and ultimately its very presence.”

#UnbeliefIsRoot
“What's at the root of that sin? What's at the root of it? Well, Paul tells us in verse 13, it's the it's the root of every sin. It is unbelief. He says, I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. Now notice, it may be a little confusing here. It may sound like, okay, well, you know, God kinda gave him a pass because, you know, he just didn't know any better. No. That's that's not what Paul's emphasizing here. The ignorant unbelief now listen, get this. The ignorant unbelief was not the basis for mercy, but instead proves the need of that mercy. Otherwise, he's doomed and you and I would be doomed in ongoing perpetual continual eternal ignorant unbelief.”

#TurnToChrist
“Can you worship Christ like this? Came into the world to save sinners as he saved you. Oh, sinner. You absolutely cannot save yourself. If Paul couldn't save himself, you certainly can't save yourself either. Like Paul, you need to turn away from all of your self efforts, all of your pride, all of your, I'm so goodness. No. You gotta turn away from all of that. You gotta you gotta just chuck it all. Turn to Christ. Call upon him to save you. You say, well, yes. Yes. He has saved me. have you lost the wonder? How's your worship?”

#RoadToDamascus
“It is God in his amazing abundant grace that totally, totally, completely redirects the sinner's actions. The sinner on the road to Damascus to persecute the church. Put yourself in there for whatever however it fits for you. But he takes the sinner on the road to Damascus to persecute the church, and he convicts and confronts and converts that sinner, and he turns around, and he goes the other way. Actually, in Paul's case, he went on to Damascus with a totally transformed purpose to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

#KeepGospelWonder
“Oh, perhaps perhaps you've lost your sense of wonder at some of the simple everyday experiences of life. Again, that's that's unfortunate. But but more importantly, have you lost your sense of wonder or awe at the gospel worse than being merely unfortunate? That's really that's that's tragic. And and one of the reasons it's tragic is because if we lose the wonder of the gospel, it really opens us up to the subtle enticements and excitement some new thing, some new idea, ear ear tickling false teaching we have to be aware of.”
