#MultigenerationalDiscipleship
“``The church has largely shifted from being relationally driven organism to a program driven organization. Over the last one hundred years, we've seen the development of the consumer driven church, the attraction oriented model, and the prioritization of the young through programs that reach young people at the consequence sound doctrine, sound living, deep theological realities, a departure of sorts, if you will, and lightening the load of the scriptures, and it has been exchanged for a lighter, gospel light, seeker sensitive approach. The church now builds programs that have peers as their motive and has lost the multigenerational discipleship model which we see in the scriptures.”

#Titus2Mentors
“The picture that Paul paints here in Titus two is a radically different picture than what we see promoted within larger evangelicalism. The saints here are filled with wisdom and stable lives, self controlled, sober minded, but yet many in our churches are deficient in even knowing what that means. As the American church gives way to the attraction oriented model, we need to have a vast appreciation for the saints that have been walking with God over the long haul, able to give guidance to the young so that the next generation rise up as men and women of God, and not men and women of culture. Those who have tasted the deep and painful hardships of life, and at the same time have seen the unrelenting hand of God and his faithfulness and goodness being able to testify. Despite the hardships and pains, God is good.”

#WisdomThroughSuffering
“Those who have buried loved ones and still have confidence that Jesus is enough. Those who have been hurt time without number but still love as an overflow because God has loved them, and they Christ. Lives of those who have had their faith tested but still come back to the word of God because they know there's no other resource that God has given under the sun for man to know him and draw near to him but by the word. There's no other word that man can give that brings the comfort of grace. The church needs men and women who are older, who have tasted the realities of life to be able to impart those consistent stabilizing truths for the younger generation.”

#SoundDoctrineMatters
“Sound doctrine produces life in the church, a healthy mix of godly saints, discipling younger saints, so that younger saints may rise up to maturity because eventually, they're the ones who are going to be leading in the next era of life. And they must know how to carry themselves in the household and in the world. Paul says in first Timothy three fourteen, he says, I hope to come to you soon, but I am writing these things to you so that if I delay, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, a pillar and buttress of the truth. All that to say is that you older saints are critical to a healthy church. You older saints are necessary for the young to grow in holiness and righteousness. You older saints have a place in the plan of God to see and grow the younger and to sound doctrine and sound living.”
