#BrokenheartedRepentance
“I had an opportunity to trust God with this longing, with this desire, with this fear, with this temptation. I had an opportunity to trust God with it, and I ran to this false God. This sin, this temptation. We need to see our sin in a brokenhearted way because the deepest cost of our sin isn't the pain or the consequence. The deepest cost of our sin is that it led Jesus to the cross.”

#MakeTheFirstNoCount
“Forsaking it is when the waiter brings the hot bread over going, hey, waiter, come here. Could you take this away from me? Forsaking is not having to say no a thousand times a minute. Forsaking is creating an environment in your life where your first no affects everything else in your life. Right? Yes. You see, that's why you don't invite the person over into your house. That's why you block them on your phone.”

#ChooseToPursueGod
“And I was thinking this question. Should I go to the church service, or should I not? This was quite some years ago, and so I was wondering if I should attend the church service not because it was far, not because it was difficult to get to, but because the night before I had done the things that I swore I wouldn't do again. Have you ever had one of those? And I was mulling over the question, would I go or would I not? The real question wasn't whether I would or wouldn't go to the church service. The real question was, am I going to hide from God or am I going to pursue God?”

#SeeSayForsake
“But then they heard God in the garden, and do you know what they did? They hid themselves from the all knowing, all seeing God. And some things never change because we still do that. Gospel renewal happens, but it only happens when we see our sin for what it is, when we say what it is, when we forsake our sin, and when we mourn our sin. That's the process by which gospel renewal happens. In fact, that's our big idea.”
