#AllegianceOrResistance
“Because the reality is anything short of religion or anything short of allegiance is resistance. We may not like that reality but anything short of allegiance is resistance. Jesus is the true king. If we don't give him our allegiance, we're given our allegiance somewhere else. Either to ourselves, I'm king of my life. I sit on the throne or something else. Someone or something sits on the throne of your life. If it's not Jesus, then your allegiance is not with Jesus. So that's where I wanna leave it this morning. A kind of uncomfortable, kind of abrupt ending, but that's kind of intentional. Jesus is the king. What is your response? Anything short of that is resistance.”

#JesusIsRisenKing
“So, with all of that in mind, you're probably like, what is going on here? Here is the definition. What is the gospel? I'll give you a short version, a long version. Short version is, it is the announcement that Jesus is the Christ, the risen king. What is the gospel? Jesus is the Christ. He's the risen king. What does that mean exactly? Here's a longer longer sentence. Jesus died to defeat sin. God raised him from the dead and now he reigns as lord of the world.”
