“``In verse seven, we see this, they continued to preach the gospel. What happens when you continue? What if you don't give up? God wins. God wins if we don't quit. God wins if we don't quit on our family. God wins if we don't quit on our coworkers. God wins if we don't quit on the people around you. God wins if we don't quit on our neighbors. God wins if we don't quit on our call. All God asked us to do, we see this in Ephesians when he gives us the armor of God. All he says is to remain standing. Just stand on my word. Just don't give up. Because I'm glorified when people see the suffering that you've had to endure. That they know that no man can endure that. They can see how real I am, and I'm glorified as you walk through what you walk through.”

“Take the pressure off of speaking to others about Christ. You're not that good anyways. I'm not that good. Something I remind myself, me speaking here cannot change anyone. not that good. I don't have the gift of my firstborn. We're not that good. Let there be pressure off because our job is just to obey God, to obey the Holy Spirit. And through that obedience, we plant seeds, but God waters the seeds.”

“The problem is this, that we listen too much of other people's words over us. It's like this. If my wife comes up here and she starts whispering in my ear, and then I have someone in the way back, yeah, who who will I hear? My wife. Why? Because she's closest to me. This is why it's so important to be in your word. This is why it's so important to be in prayer. This is why it's so important to be filled by the Holy Spirit. Because as the Holy Spirit is here, you can hear. Even though it's a gentle whisper, it's still louder than the noise going out out there. So they could be saying a million things about you, but you know what God is saying about you. You know that you're chosen. You know that you're called. You know that God has a purpose, a divine purpose for your life. You know that he is in control of your family. You know that any suffering you may walk through, it's okay because God has your future in the palm of your hand. Because you can hear him.”

“And then it says in verse four, the people of the city were divided. This wasn't a peaceful disagreement. This word was used to being ripped apart. This is the same word that was used in Matthew twenty seven fifty one, where it says that the veil was torn in two when Jesus Christ died on the cross. That's what this word is saying, that the people of the whole city were just torn apart. Kinda sounds like The US right now. This isn't a peaceful disagreement. And now I come to our key takeaway, which is this. The gospel will divide the room, but our job is to stay faithful to the message, not to manage people's reaction. Let's talk about this. Why does the gospel divide? There's three reasons I believe the gospel divides, and it's proven here all throughout scripture. Number one is the gospel challenges every idol in your life.”
